One thing to remember when following nigella recipes is that she always says she cooks for pleasure and believes you should eat what you enjoy eating. If she finishes a meal and doesn't feel like making it again she won't keep the recipe.
So make sure you are enjoying what you eat, if happiness with food equals happiness with your body it's got to be worth trying!
Personally I have been finding pleasure in a vegetarian diet recently, so many flavours that I have discovered. When I have had meat since buying vegetarian it just tastes different and I don't enjoy it.

This is a really good thing to point out, thanks. I've followed this principle ever since I began cooking for my family.

Congrats on the vegetarian diet! I went vegetarian for a while as a teen. I'm sure that's what's helping you trim down so nicely. You're looking great.
Thanks bb, working at a fast food restaurant isn't helping as they don't have much healthy or vegetarian choices. But I am gritting my teeth and bearing with it until I get a paycheck and can bring in my own lunches. There isn't even a microwave for me to do my own stuff ugh.
Am starting my second job tomorrow. Can't wait to start getting paid!

I hope you enjoy the Mediterranean food I look forward to your mouth watering food updates.

I can imagine how tough it must be for you. I was actually thinking about the fact that you're working in fast food when I read your message about being vegetarian now. Good luck with starting your second job. I hope your new diet and body are giving you the energy you need.

I have not become vegetarian out of a dislike for meat or anything like that  me and the bf decided to start buying vegetarian as it would be healthier and ba user he is ridiculously picky with meat in meals. It is just easier when he Isn't spending 2 hours deciding what he wants for dinner lol

That makes sense! Good on you guys for making a decision together to be healthier.
I went to my brother and sister-in-law's for Thanksgiving. They have a scale, so I weighed myself. Just as I thought, I've lost weight.

I then got a 24-hour stomach virus the night after Thanksgiving and lost more weight.

The moment I felt good enough to eat again, I rushed to get some nourishment in me, nervous about all the weight I've lost. I weighed myself the day after I'd been eating again, and I'd lost more weight since I'd started taking calories back in!

My appetite has been nosediving lately, too. I'm just not much interested in eating.

I'm trying to think of some great, cold weather foods that will tempt me and make me want to eat regularly again. My brain keeps saying "Stew!" So I'm going to look up some yummy stew recipes. I also want to make roasted vegetables.

I think I have luteal swelling. Maybe. Not sure where I am in my cycle.

Have some fermented food or probtiotics. Stomach bugs can deplete good bacteria wich you dont want.
Join the club. Im not loosing but not gaining either!
Warm soups are good, esp home made, need to do so myself once i figure out how!

Great tip, thank you so much! My stomach hasn't been the same since, and that's probably why.

Soup's one of the easiest things to make! I'll definitely be making a lot of it as winter sets in.
Today's my birthday. I took a step back and looked at my life, and realized I really shouldn't be so negative... or negative at all, really. I have no enemies and in fact have nothing but friends and loved ones who are crazy about me. I have a good job, a new life, and a future that's looking like it could include things I didn't think I'd ever get to experience. The past few months have had me doing things I never thought I'd do. I think God's trying to show me that I have his favor and I need to just rely on him and not let my negative mind and assumptions worry me and get in the way of him working.

Another thing my birthday usually makes me think of is how much I want to take care of myself. The things I've been struggling with lately are sleep (okay, that's not a "lately" thing) and eating enough. I caved and ordered a mattress the other night when, at 1:00 in the morning, I still wasn't asleep because my futon felt so uncomfortable. So hopefully the sleep thing will work itself out once I actually have a bed with a mattress. The eating thing is something I need to throw more effort and time into. I realized today that a meal plan always works best for me, so here's what I'm thinking right now:

Breakfast - Fruit, two poached eggs, oatmeal, tea, milk

Lunch - Green smoothie (my brother and sister-in-law got me a blender for my birthday!), some sort of protein. Still brainstorming this one. I might do a homemade personal-sized whole grain veggie pizza with goat cheese and mozzarella on it. Not sure. And tea. Always tea.

Dinner - Stew with salad and good bread, or roasted vegetables with fish or meat and tea. On the weekends I'll make and eat a Nigella Lawson recipe.

Snack - Yogurt or kefir and nuts with dried fruit

Another big goal I have for this new year of my life, aside from getting a boyfriend, is to learn to appreciate and trust myself.

And as for NBE, I'm feeling ready to start taking some risks. I'm going to do some things I've never tried before.
