I'd like to read more up on about this, because I already have apparently the strongest birth control pills on the market, as I got them prescribed for excess body hair. The results it has had on my body is really amazing though, so I'd love to keep taking them, but of course not if they have serious side effects.

I have a few girlfriends and every single one of them that had been on birth control pills for years at a time ALL suffer polycistic ovaries now. They were all told because of their PCOS they would have trouble conceiving too. They all had kids, one of them took a very long time. But they still have PCOS to this day, suffer bloating, period irregularities, one of them grows hair all over her face as a result, she literally have to shave her chin. You need to do the research on the particular one you are using and hope you find sme legitamate info on long term risks.

I'm really sorry to hear that happened to your friends. I've read up on it and I can't find any information on it, rather it seems like my birth control pill is more used as a cure for PCOS. I've also read the package insert through several times, and there isn't written anything about PCOS being a side effect.

Thank you for informing me though, I'll try and see if I can find more about it. I did once get told by a friend that if you use the birth control pill for years, you might not be able to be pregnant, but I can't seem to find any information that proves it.

I do not have any links to prove it either atm, but havent attempted either. Bc i am convinced bcp messes up..some cases are real bad like ella pointed out some people are more lucky though. My own experience was acne from bcp then water weight...yes 10Kgs and im very skinny naturally..after stopping wi58n 3months i lost almostly all the weight. Then i suffered for awhile from more bad acne andmore body hair...it took me a big fat year to get my normal setpoint back. But thinking back its so logical that if only one tiny.little pill makes sure your uterus lining doesnt build up anymore and so preventing you from becoming pregnant..will affect a lot more in our body's then. Awhile ago i even read scientific proof that it makes woman dumber...it thins the sides of our brains.. these parts also control the emotional parts of our brain if i am not.mistaken...no wonder we women are so.messed up lol..kidding Rolleyes

How long had you been taking birth control pills? And which ones did you take?
Weight gain is listed as a side effect on my birth control pills, and I have gained some weight, but only in the places I've wanted to. My acne has actually improved from taking them and I don't see any change in my body hair, except that it takes longer to grow back. I've never heard about it affecting your brain either, but I do feel like I've become a lot more emotional, although I wouldn't say it affects me too much.
I think birth control pills just affect people differently.

I took bcp for four years...it was microgynon then followed by marvalon.
Imglad you gained weight in the good place..do want to mention that it will probably be temporary weight gain..once youll stop bcp chances are you loose all that weight.. so that was one reason for me to stop it...bc i wanted to be my true self.. but everybody should do what feel good ofcourseSmile

Ah, I see. I use a different type of birth control pills, although I'm not sure that might be why. My body fat storage has always kinda been like this.
And well, it's not much different from if you take any NBE herbs or pills or something like that, the results will also be gone when you stop taking them for a while, just like your muscles will become less prominent when you stop working out and you will become thinner when you eat less, but I see what you mean.

I disagree with that, bcp is synthetic, herbs are more like food...working together with food even...synthecic  chemicals produced by pharma industry can never be compared with that.

What brand PM did you take?
See i hate what herbs can do.
Dont fret its actually very normal to hear girls here say how PM messed up their cycles.. VERY common..
If you havent been on the pill before and have no need to i wouldnt start now! Birth control is another thing you dont want to be on long term.
Im sure your cycle will come back soon. But dont touch Pm again.
Hopefuly your breasts will fill out again. Maybe massage massage massage them .
Im 3 months into trying herbs and massage. Month one was everyday fenugreek and my period was normal. Month 2 i took PM first 14 days of cycle then fenugreek the other days. My period was 2 days late, shorter, and very heavy bleeding. Month 3 i did the same herb schedule...but its cycle day 35 and i have not had my period yet.
Ive never had irregular periods before these herbs. I stopped taking pills about 5 days ago. What if my period is completely missed? Should i never take PM again?

Well to answer my own thread. I will probably just start taking the birth control patch.

The second month I took PM for the whole month and my period did not arrive when it was due so I stopped taking the PM and I'm pretty sure I ovulated at that time. This was about 14 days ago. Since then, I have had ZERO symptoms that I normally get during luteal phase i.e. breast swelling, tenderness, bloating, cramping, food cravings... My breasts look like they have been run over by a truck a thousand times and have absolutely no volume or tenderness. I still don't have any cramping or bloating and I am now on day 42.

Just some background: I am a healthy 31 yr old female. I am not sexually active right now so there is zero chance I am pregnant. I have never in my life had a late or missed period. My period is as regular as clockwork. The last few years I have had some minor diffuse hair thinning but that is a whole other issue. That was actually the primary reason I started taking PM as I thought the phytoestrogen would help hair growth like the BCP without the serious side effects of BCP.

The last 5 days I have been drinking parsley tea and taking pills to no avail. I still don't have any signs of having my period and I am loosing my mind. I am so worried that I messed up my body so bad that I wont get my period again and I've put my body in some kind of early menopause. I am literally in tears. I just want my period to come back. My period is going on 15 days late and I don't know what to do or if I should just start taking birth control ( I have the xulane patch). I guess I've learned my lesson to never take PM for the whole month or for that matter I probably wont ever take it again.

If anyone has any advice or has been in a similar situation, it would be great to hear about it. I haven't taken PM for like 15 days and I really don't understand how I'm not getting my period yet. I see some people are late but never this late and they usually have symptoms. Really don't know what to do....Thanks for reading

Oh my god, I'm so sorry! There's no feeling worse than feeling your hair starts falling off as a woman. You definitely need more supplements in your life.
Sorry for chiming in to this thread so late, but I used to dread taking showers all the time. Now I don't mind.

This is my story and some of my best advice which I hope is going to be of much help.

I'm a woman in her 50's and I didn't give much thought to my sprouting gray hairs and my hair loss in my 30's during my first pregnancy because they were virtually undetectable; however, as my patch turned into a streak, I began to question whether or not I should address them although it was the last thing I wanted to do...

Should I color them? Should I stick to natural hairstyles where they'd go unnoticed? I was really on the fence, yet I didn't feel particularly rushed to conceal my grays...

I'm glad there are finally solutions out there for doing something about it that actually work!

This is a daily hair growth supplement that quite quickly helped me and my bestie to improve our hair and stop our hair loss with a few important but natural ingredients.

It wasn't until we found it we were able to make our hair stop falling off as fast although it doesn't stop completely!

I finally feel a lot more confident in my hair!

Wishing you the best of luck in your journey, sis.

Hope my advice was of help to you <3

Debbie
