The Year-Long Massage and Diet Project (No Herbs)

My labs the last time I went to the doctor indicated my thyroid levels are a bit low. I was wondering what I could do about that as I don't want it to get worse and cause me to wind up on meds for the rest of my life, so I did some research. It turns out certain foods can stress your thyroid, including a lot of healthy stuff. One of those things is raw leafy vegetables. I have a green smoothie almost every single morning. Yikes!

I looked into a few other things as well, such as adrenal fatigue and high testosterone and estrogen. I want to give honor to missboobshirt concerning the whole high estrogen revelation, because her thread is what led me to realizing that that might be the case with me. I always knew my "male" hormones were too high, but recognizing that my estrogen might be high, too, could prove to be a game-changer for me.

In light of these things, I'm tweaking my plan a little bit. I need to do a bit more research and mull over a few things and see what's available to me first, but some of my future plans have changed.

If anyone has any helpful info, that would be great. Or any breakfast ideas that incorporate vegetables, since I love getting veggies in with my first meal of the day. I wish my green smoothie weren't dangerous for me.

Vegetable omelettes are good for getting veggies in. You can basically add in anything you like to it Smile

It's the broccoli and cauliflower family that could interfere with thyroid. I don't believe it's lettus spinach etc...

Why can't you look at idione supplements? Peggy has extensive threads on iodine. I myself use a roll on iodine. Your body absorbs what it needs

Thanks, Katana. I thought of spinach omelets and scramblers. I'll definitely try that. I think I'm going to look up some cooked vegan breakfast ideas.

Ella, I read that spinach and kale will also do it if they aren't cooked (and those were the main greens I used for my smoothies, so I think there's some truth to it). Cabbage as well. And I'm scared of iodine supplements because I was reading that they can overwork your thyroid or something along those lines (they compared it to giving an old horse energy pills or something like that; yes the horse will have more energy, but working it harder will make it die quicker).

The thyroid is weird, man.

Iodine is hotly debated Yeh but also highly implicated in chronic disease and body organ malfunction etc.

That's why I never jumped into lugols etc. Also why I use the roll on. You can put one drop on if you like or smear yourself with it. If you're body needs it it will disappear quickly. If not it just stays on your skin and naturally fades.
I'd sooner use that over thyroid meds unless of course you REALLY needed the meds.

But it's an individual thing. It's worth looking into though.

Malfunctioning thyroid is highly indicated in constipation and subsequently sibo which is why I'm starting up the Transdermal again.

Worth looking at using even kelp if you don't have iodine foods in your diet. Adequately sourced of course

I suspected kale and cabbage but didn't know spinach was as well. Kale in smoothies makes me ill!!!

I agree that it's definitely better than having to resort to the meds. I'll look into it and research like crazy. Kelp does interest me.

Kale does taste horrible in smoothies! Spinach at least doesn't have much of a taste in smoothies.

Oh, another thing: strawberries aren't so great for underactive thyroid as well. That was also an ingredient in my smoothies. No wonder my levels aren't so great.

Looks soooo yummy. I don't think I'll be missing my green smoothies.

Oo, a good thing, too, because I've read kelp tastes nasty!

Come think of it, I can get seaweed locally. In fact, I've snacked on it in the past. I wonder if that would help...

...annnnd here's my answer: http://www.livestrong.com/article/146168...e-thyroid/ "While seaweed produced from brown algae has more iodine than varieties made from red or green algae, all seaweed varieties have significant amounts of the mineral." Maybe if I eat some seaweed a few times a week, it'll help? My levels are still technically satisfactory, so maybe between omitting foods that hurt it and nibbling on some seaweed, I can get my levels out of the danger zone.

Oh, and to bring the focus back to breasts, mine are HUGE right now! I was cupping them this morning, and I have big hands for a girl. But right now, for me, they're more than a handful. Amazing! I wish I could be in luteal forever just to keep these massive breasts!

I quite love seaweed sheets, i forget what they are called? I could eat them all day, mine say they have something like 250mg worth of idodine in them per pack.
Just be mindful of where the seaweed comes from , which country etc..

My boobs arent bigger per say but filled out a bit and fit comfy in my 34Cs right now. That will change once my cycle kicks in Sad

If so, is the band sizing underbust + 4 like in the chart they provide? There are a lot of complaints about it being too small, but I can't tell if they overlooked the chart and bought band = underbust.

Amazon are the pits! Not only do they hardly ever ship to my country this particular one DOES but ... The bra would cost me $6 but the shipping.... $48, and for some reason the whole order was going to cost me $61
