No PC this cycle....it seems like Ill never get there but I will.
I really want a comprehensive hormone panel done and explained by a good doctor. I am going to make an appointment with a reproductive endocrinologist/ fertility specialist to check me out, get a second opinion on the endometriosis, check the endometrial lining, I want it all done. I am tired of playing the guessing game with my body.
Saw my grandma yesterday and we discussed her looong history with endo, adrenal tumors ( both glands), facial hair among other things. Reminded me I need to take care of myself NOW as opposed to later. I will do everything I can. I am excited to go the the doctor because even if I get more bad news, I will know what happening with my body and how to proceed, exciting for me.

Okay, appointment made! They are going to do a thyroid test too so I am going to have all sorts of info soon and will know for sure if I need PC. Appointment is on the 29th of this month.

"Reminded me I need to take care of myself NOW as opposed to later." I love this; this is me, too. My mom has a laundry list of health issues, and I'm constantly fighting to not follow in her footsteps. I'd rather shell out for healthy food and practices and take lots of supplements now rather than wind up on a bunch of pills and regular hospital stays later!

Hope all goes well with your tests!

I agree! It is certainly good to take advantage of the knowledge we have gained and to use it rather than to wait till we have a plethora of problems that we could have eased, avoided, etc.

Hello ladies

Doctors visit left me in a bit of confusion. First off he want me to go on BC to induce menopausal state and see if my symptoms of endo persist or go away so he knows for sure if I have endo or adenymosis. He didnt really listen much to anything I told him and ignored other sings that my other doctor and countess holistic practitioners have acknowledged. I do not feel good about that at all. I mean its not about being right, in this case Id much rather be wrong but anyway I shall continue..
So he goes on to tell me that my acne and minor facial hair among other small issues is probably related to me not ovulating properly. He said the pill "should" help with that stuff too.

My opinion is that he is maybe a jackass. Why would you give a 23 year old young lady BC to induce menopause to diagnose Endo knowing it could further mess up my cycles? If you think my progesterone is low ovulation isnt functioning at its prime why would yo give me BC

Thy cyst is gone, he says it probably went away. Yes it could have. But I am 98% certain its because of the herbs/meds I was on for it, I felt them working in that area!
My opinion is that he is maybe a jackass. Why would you give a 23 year old young lady BC to induce menopause to diagnose Endo knowing it could further mess up my cycles? If you think my progesterone is low or my ovulation isnt functioning at its prime why would yo give me BC instead of something to just help with or correct that? I feel like that would be starting at the root of any hormonal/reproductive issues I have. My stepmom was excited to hear the news until I told her about the full cycled BC he wants me to take. She says dont do that, it could make things worse for the long term and I may never be balanced again. She was especially scared that after that there wouldnt be a guarantee that my period would come back or that I could actually even get pregnant after that. Her worries seem far fetched but these were all worries of mine. I just dont know if its a good idea to shut down my hormones period.
I would love some feedback or advice or always. I am kind of feeling like just giving up with the doctors.

Hi, if I were you, I would NOT do it. I too believe the doctor is a jackass.
The bc messed up my hormones pretty much and I am happy not to take it anymore. You should listen to your gut feeling.

Agreed that's all they are trained to do, prescribe stuff even at the risk of an in thorough anaylsis, at least naturopaths spend time trying to get the big picture and take a historical view of what you've experienced in the past.
Ive said it before to others and Il say it again.

EVERY girlfriend I have who spent a long period of time on BC ALL have PCOS now and irregular periods. The reason they went on birth control in the first place wasn't because they had period abnormalities in the first place it was simple for birth control. The problems all came when they got off it and have persisted for years following.
