My skin is rather dry and I was intending to use coconut oil for massage, but after finding this thread I'm thinking that olive oil would be a better choice.

Coconut oil and olive oil are both great options if you have dry skin, so it really comes down to personal preference. If dry skin was an issue and I had to choose between those two myself I would go for olive oil.
