self-measuring: doing it wrong?
#9

if you are just trying to find out how many inches you are, measuring around the fullest part of the bust is the only way to do it, usually the fullest part is right around the nipples.

every thing counts, so if you use an online bra calculator to find your size. if your put in say. 28" but you actually measure 28.25, the measurements may be different.

i used to work at a maternity store, i had to do bra fittings as part of my job. not all bras are equal you could have a whole selection of bras in front of you, all in "your" size. and two 3rds of them may not fit because of the cut, and style, and you would have to go up or down a size.

as for the actual measurement of your bust. maybe you shouldn't tell your friends, they don't sound very nice, or supportive. there is nothing wrong with starting out with a small bust.

when first started BCP i was about 29 3/4 " and i counted that extra quarter inch as a blessing Smile. i slowly grew to 32.5 inches, and although BCP isn't NBE the growth was slow and only by keeping written track of my growth did i notice any real changes. and with noogleberry this past month i have gained another .5 inch putting me at 33". every little bit counts, every quarter inch counts. growth may be slow but if you track your progress month to month, or every few months write it down, over time, you'll see there is growth that you didn't notice in the flesh.

measure yourself around the bust and the underbust and the over bust. write it down ( the over bust measurement may end up being the same as the underbust) and keep updating it. don't look for the big leaps, like inches. looking at it in quarter inches and half inches will feel better and will show your progress more accurately.

i hope that some of this helps.
