Yea what Mel said is right. Those bra calculators are always wrong lol. They put me at everything from a 30B to a 34G! I'm a 32D/34C depends on the bra to which size. But generally you measure like Mel said to get your bra size. I put the measuring tape right below my breasts on my ribs to get my underbust measurement, I make sure my lungs are not filled with air, this can make your underbust an inch bigger than you need!! So I make sure I don't inhale, but I don't exhale all the way either because then it can end up too tight. So somewhere in between. I come to 27-28 inches, my weight fluctuates. When you have an even number you add 4 when you have an odd number you add 5, this gives you your band size. So either way 27 or 28, I'm a 32 band. The only time I wear a 34 is when the bras run small. Okay now for cup size, you measure your bust on the fullest part, for me that is at the nipples, you make sure the tape is parallel all the way around the body, do not make the tape too snug, but it shouldn't be falling off of you either. I'm 36 1/2 inches on the bust, so for me for example. I take 36 1/2 and subtract the 32 bandsize from it and get 4 1/2, cup sizes for US sizes are as follows, 0 or below is AA, 1 is A, 2 is a B, 3 is C, 4 is a D, 5 is a DD, etc. etc. So I'm a 32D because I round it out, 32D's are a lil snug on me, I fill them completely because of the 1/2 inch there, but I tried 32DD's and they are too big.
So make sure you are measuring correctly and then go from there. I do agree with Mel, it sounds like you are measuring wrong. But Mel, if she's 28 on the underbust she would be a 32 band. And if that's the case and the 34.5 measurement for the bust is correct then she's a 32B. Some bras run small like with me some 32D's are too tight so I get a 34C in those brands and styles, like for example VS... in some bras I wear a 32D in some a 34C, like the bombshell one and the pink collection, 32D, the very sexy collection, the strapless bras, and the bikini tops that go by bra size I wear a 34C in. This is why it's best to go to a bra shop to try bras on before buying them. And btw, VS measures wrong alot, they have measured me wrong plenty of times.
