Hi everyone! I don't know about anyone else but I'm having a heck of a time finding an accurate bra sizing chart. I've literally had them tell me that I'm everything from a AA to an E, lol! I'm neither of those sizes based on the pictures on the bra sizing posts, but I'm not entirely sure what I am now. The bras that I wear now are all a size 34B (I live in the United States) except for a small C that I think just runs small. The bras are all snug on me and my measurements are 29.5 inches underneath, and 34.5 inches over the fullest part of my breast. I'm very confused now and I was hoping someone could help me. On the plus side, I seem to have gained 1/2 inch over the past four months or so.
You add 4 to your band size for even numbers and 5 if you are uneven. so 29.5 rounded would be 29 +5= 34 you then subtract that from your bust measurement which comes to .5. Every inch equals 1 cup size.
Since you are saying that the 34 B fits snug, I'm wondering if maybe you are not measureing correctly, which is a mistake a lot of girls have made when first coming here. When you measure under the bust, you are supposed to put it very tight, on the other hand on the bust you are suppose to hold it very loose. Typically just those two changes would most likely add the 1.5 into your stats that would explain a B cup fitting snug.
I'm going to venture a guess and say that your under bust should be a 28 or 28.5 when pulled snug and bust about 34.5 give or take. that would put you in a 34 B

Yea what Mel said is right. Those bra calculators are always wrong lol. They put me at everything from a 30B to a 34G! I'm a 32D/34C depends on the bra to which size. But generally you measure like Mel said to get your bra size. I put the measuring tape right below my breasts on my ribs to get my underbust measurement, I make sure my lungs are not filled with air, this can make your underbust an inch bigger than you need!! So I make sure I don't inhale, but I don't exhale all the way either because then it can end up too tight. So somewhere in between. I come to 27-28 inches, my weight fluctuates. When you have an even number you add 4 when you have an odd number you add 5, this gives you your band size. So either way 27 or 28, I'm a 32 band. The only time I wear a 34 is when the bras run small. Okay now for cup size, you measure your bust on the fullest part, for me that is at the nipples, you make sure the tape is parallel all the way around the body, do not make the tape too snug, but it shouldn't be falling off of you either. I'm 36 1/2 inches on the bust, so for me for example. I take 36 1/2 and subtract the 32 bandsize from it and get 4 1/2, cup sizes for US sizes are as follows, 0 or below is AA, 1 is A, 2 is a B, 3 is C, 4 is a D, 5 is a DD, etc. etc. So I'm a 32D because I round it out, 32D's are a lil snug on me, I fill them completely because of the 1/2 inch there, but I tried 32DD's and they are too big.
So make sure you are measuring correctly and then go from there. I do agree with Mel, it sounds like you are measuring wrong. But Mel, if she's 28 on the underbust she would be a 32 band. And if that's the case and the 34.5 measurement for the bust is correct then she's a 32B. Some bras run small like with me some 32D's are too tight so I get a 34C in those brands and styles, like for example VS... in some bras I wear a 32D in some a 34C, like the bombshell one and the pink collection, 32D, the very sexy collection, the strapless bras, and the bikini tops that go by bra size I wear a 34C in. This is why it's best to go to a bra shop to try bras on before buying them. And btw, VS measures wrong alot, they have measured me wrong plenty of times.
gad, I'm sorry. I got halfway through posting my reply and got a phone call and walked away and when I came back I guess I had really lost my frame of thought on the measurements and where I was going with it, so I goofed. Anastasia is right that would be a 32 B, but if your measurement is possibly 34.5 instead of 34 then you would be on the snug end of 32B, so almost a 32C, depending on how you are shaped which is the sister size to 34B. Lol, that's the closest theory I've got. Hope you get the measuring figured out. It def can be frustrating for sure.

My under bust is 29 my bust is 35.5, I've been told I'm a full 34b but all 34b bras are tight, 34c is more comfortable but there is some gap on the top.
I'm so confused I want to be a 34d
Are 32 bands too tight for you?

I'm a bit confused about why you're saying we should add 4 inches to our underbust measurement. When I do that, my bands are too loose. 4 inches is a lot, so I don't understand why we'd want the bands that much larger... just trying to get this sizing thing right!
Adding 4 inches is an outdated bra sizing system that a lot of people still mistakenly use. The result you get from measuring is just to help you find a starting point, anyway. You have to try on bras to see because your breast shape will also have an effect.
Haha yes I saw that kind of bad advice especially first answer recommending the same wrong size she had a problem with!
even stores that measure now often only add 2-3 in if they add at all.
If possible its always best to just buy the band size the same as your under bust measurement and for cups try different sizes to find the best for you since they will vary by body shape bra style brand you need to try them.
