I think to understand how your particular body metabolizes E, you'll want to have a panel done and maybe talk to a specialist if you can. Everything is guess work without having the medical evidence. I haven't done a panel but I think I might after I finish this month or 2 on BO to see how it goes. So far, I'm skeptical and would prefer the security of having more knowledge.
For lacking enzymes, this is definitely true and as varied as anything else among women.
As a rule of thumb, I try to eat lots of locally grown leafy greens even before NBE. It's good for so many things and also helpful for NBE, so if you're worried about supplements, maybe see if foods can provide enough DIM. That may also provide a better balancing effect than added supplements.
