Hi girls,
I stumbled upon this and thought it might be of some interest. This method of breast enlargement is based upon stem cells and liposculpture (lipofilling). The first link is in french but you may use an online translator:
http://fr.news.yahoo.com/dstsante/20070709/thl-faites-vous-donc-gonfler-les-seins-p-be91fa4.html
The society (cytorix) providing this treatment is set in california. I googled it and found these links:
http://ir.cytoritx.com/releasedetail.cfm?ReleaseID=229485
http://www.cytoritx.com/products/rs_overview.html
This method will first be used in europe, in women who underwent breast surgery (massectomy). I couldn't find anything about the duration of the treatment, is it definitive? does the fat resorb in time? I don't know. I just skimmed through the articles though, so perhaps I missed something. I found this Celution exciting and promising and couldn't wait to share it with you.
Bye

I've emailed a doctor in Austria that does the procedure to get more info on it. It is not yet legal in the US (not sure where you are located) but it's legal in the EU including the UK. There is one doctor that does it in Japan as well. He's the one who pioneered this procedure. Apparently they can take up to 160 cc of your own fat from liposuction and with stem cells use this fat as your own implant. For sizes larger than 160 cc you must do the procedure twice. Previsously when injecting your own fat into the breast, the body would reject the fat. Now with mixing the fat with your own stem cells, the fat will grow it's own blood supply so the results are permanent! The operation takes 3-4 hours. The doctor advises to stay in Austria for 2-3 days for the surgery. His name is Dr. Heinrich and his website is www.ddrheinrich.com. It sounds like a great alternative to having implants. I think there are a few doctors in the US that are doing research on it. Hopefully it will be more widely available soon!

I saw it in UK newspaper - apparently hoping to be available post mastectomy early 2008 and procedure should only take an hour. You then take 6 months to grow up to 2 cup sizes.

Hi Louise, Hi Charity,
I'm in France... and I doubt this technic will cross the border easily.
Yet, this sounds very encouraging. After all, if they plan to perform it on women with mastectomy, it must be a safe process.
I remember reading about "normal" liposculpture: many patients developed calcifications, which is why surgeons are reluctant to use it. too risky. It's hard to tell calcifications from beginning cancers in mammography or palpation.
2 cups!!! That's awesome. I'd better start to spare a lot ... something tells me it will be somewhat pricey
I'll try to get some more information and let you know. I'm curious to see if this is meant to last or if it's just a temporary thing.
Anyway, it sounds almost too good to be true: finding yourself with a smaller butt and bigger boobs within one hour, no general anesthesia, no scars, no pain...mmmh, I wonder where the bug hides.

It's supposed to be similar price to regular implants and using stem cells means that it's not just a lump of fat in there which will dissolve, it will develop it's own blood supply and become a living part of the natural breast. I would imagine normal stuff like pregnancy and changes in weight may affect it but otherwise should last.

Lost Sheep-
The calcification occurs with lipo sculpture without the use of your stem cells. The stem cells prevents this from happening and the fat grows its own blood supply and reincorporating itself naturally with your body. It's very exciting news for all of us!

Hi,
Just wondered....
so you can take 160 cc from another area - will all of this fat survive, or will some be reabsorbed?
This is very exciting but pricey. The Austrian Dr. told me it costs 3000 - 15000 euros.
I suppose you're get Lipo plus a natural looking breast enlargement - so it's more reasonable if you put it that way

I haven't heard much about this procedure, but one thing I did hear is that it's not sucessful, that the fat calcifies and becomes permanently inflamated with granulomas and the breasts harden and become deformed.

Moon - have a look on the Brava forum at the autologous fat transplants that used Brava to stretch the skin and encourage vascularisation, about 90% fat survival! They also in my mind went a little too large but they all had a lovely natural shape (if you want to see some fright boobs check out the link I posted on the implants forum - talk about upside down and back to front - yuck!)

Hi Moon,
So the stem cell breast enlargement is unsuccessful too! This was going to be my last resort. I know that simple fat transfer calsify - but is this def true for the stem cell breast enlargement - I was under the impression this was what the procedure had overcome.
I sure you wouldn't say it if you hadn't read it somewhere - I'm not doubting you really - just double checking out of wishful thinking!
As Louise says, the brava fat transfer seems brilliant:
http://www.brava.com/acog-poster-session.asp
But I dunno if you can be sure that it lasts longer than a year. I think it's a long game when it comes to fat transfers lasting.

Hi,
first I want to thank Charity for the link to Dr. Heinrich's Website. I contacted the clinic to get some informations myself and they were very obliging. In particluar i asked your question, Linz: whether the the stem cell breast enlargement is temporary or a long-term measurement and they told me it is permanent. Since I'm from germany I made an appointment at the clinic and going to check it out.
