Stem cells used for 'natural' boob jobs

WOMEN may be able to undergo a "natural" form of breast enlargement using their own stem cells and fat.
The technique, pioneered in Japan, results in breasts that look and feel smoother than conventional cosmetic surgery using implants.
Stem cells, which have the potential to change into any cells in the body, are found in embryos, but the most plentiful supply in adults is from body fat. When body fat is transferred to the breasts, the stem cells enable the fat to grow its own blood supply, thus becoming an integral part of the breast rather than a foreign object.
Dozens of women in Japan have received the enlargements during trials. This month, German authorities gave approval to the process. Under EU rules, this means that the procedure is now legal throughout Europe, including Britain.
But Australian women may have to wait for the procedure to become widely available because of litigation concerns.
Michael Zacharia, president of the Australasian College of Cosmetic Surgery, said the technique could make the detection of subsequent breast cancer more difficult.
While the procedure "gives a very nice natural result", he said it could be hard to determine whether changes occurring in a breast were as a result of cancer or the fat transfer.
"Medical insurance companies just refuse to cover it," he said

how do they do the surgery? anyone know? i wonder what sort of incisions are involved.

This fat transfer idea has been discussed here before with the conclusion that it's hard to find cosmetic surgeons who perform it. You can look on the cosmetic surgery forum here for further information.

this is terrible. soon enough no one will be natural anymore. A cups will be a thing of the past. even people whho dont like big boobs will be pressured to get them. we will all be fake big breasted mutantgs

why do peoplekeep trying to find way to transfer fat into the boobs? we did fat transfersin the 50s and it resulted in breasts calcifying and needing to be chopped off. your body doesnt respond well from the procedure, idont know why they still insist its going to work

To the person who ewwwed - speak for ypourself, I for one have enoguh of a backbone not to be manipulated and pressured into wanting something I don't, A cup is exactly what I want and it's based on MY oppinion and no one elses.
About the procedure, it's be nice if that worked but the risks sound kindof scarry and even if it wasn't risky, I thoguht that fat transfer wasn't permanent.

I personally think that if you are in this forum, you are at least curious of having bigger breasts. There is nothing wrong with wanting to have larger breasts. I am an A cup, I am interested in all possibilities.

what about all the girls that are trying to be AT LEAST an A cup!! Not everyone wants to walk about with huge cans falling outta their shirts!

i would never go through with a surgery like this. my question was out of pure curiousity, and i imagine the person who created the post did so to just share what is going on in the world of breasts! i agree that whoever is on this site to some degree must want to enlarge their breasts to a degree - even if it is just to an A cup and not to pamela anderson proportions. i understand the frustration of living in a society where large breasts are becoming the norm largely through deceit, but oh well...we have to live with it, don't we? part of accepting yourself involves accepting the parts that do not fit into the supposed societal ideals. varying breast sizes have always gone in and out of fashion.
