Some say start on the first day of you period & some say 7 days after the last day of period. Some say never to take pm while bleeding ... ?

Anyone got any ideas...i'm getting confused!

My bcp (yasmin) starts on the first day of menstruation, take for a month, then take break for next period to start. I just got my cycle regular again ater messing it up with herbs few yrs ago. Now it's always bang on time. I'll be taking a break from bcp while doing pm, as my boyf is away workin for a few months.

I am confused too, sex hormones are complex stuff, but the only way to know is to try. I am trying PM like the label on my PM bottle suggest, taking it starting from the first day of my period, then stop after 14 days. If this messes with my cycle too much I will change the schedule.

Estrogen peaks before ovulation especially the few days before ovulation. So I believe the highest dose of PM should be taken then. From the chart, estrogen is lowest from days 1-7 of the menstrual cycle:

I am thinking maybe women should take PM starting from days 7-14, take a break then days 17-21 then a break.
