Tackling Sleeplessness while Quitting Smoking

#1

Smokers try the Best ways to quit smoking but they find it difficult to fight the withdrawal symptoms or the side effects of the medication. One of the main problems that a smoker faces while quitting smoking is sleeplessness. Normally a person requires a sleep of eight hours or at least seven hours. Sleep lesser than that might lead to some other problems. Our system which works all the time, for example the heart and lungs deserve some relaxation. When we sleep, these systems get relaxed and work at a slower pace. While quitting smoking, the body might not be able to sleep and get the required amount of rest.

To get a proper sleep it is important to fix a bed time routine and stick to it not only from Monday to Friday but also on the weekends. It is also important to go to bed early. Going to bed early makes it easier to wake up in the morning with a fresh mind. One must avoid eating two hours before going to sleep. Sleeping with a full stomach is difficult. It is also preferable to keep the meals light. Sleeping with a heavy stomach increases the chances of disturbing dreams and even nightmares. It is a good idea to have a glass of warm milk at least 30 minutes before going to bed. Milk is a natural sedative. One can also wash their feet and calves up to knees in warm water before going to sleep. Gently massaging the feet, calves, forearms and hands with some moisturizer also helps. Diffusing lavender essential oil in the room also helps tremendously. Reading and TV in bed is not recommended.

It is always better to use natural methods than using sleeping pills of any kind.
