Is extra protein needed to grow with herbs or just with BO?

As much as I want to try BO, I just feel uneasy doing so as I don't eat beef. The cost seems better with herbs also and i have seen that many people have grown with herbs, so i would like to eventually give it a try. I eat primarily vegetarian, which really means I eat poultry and dairy only sometimes, i mean like once a week or less. So i see that protein is needed for BO, but how about to grow with herbs? I can also ramp up my vegetarian protein by eating more beans, nuts, oatmeal and peas, but it will be a long way from getting 100 grams a day i think.

Perhaps you could take Spirulina? There´s some talk about that on the noogleberry forum, it seems to be a good source of protein for vegetarians.
