Fennel Seeds

#1

My mom also just found out about this website and is thinking about starting NBE. She doesn't want to talk pills or anything b/c it's expensive and we are saving up on a new house. She was wondering if she should consume the fennel plant or the fennel seeds. She has a jar of fennel seeds and she takes a small amount. Is this okay for NBE?? If so, how much should she take a day in order to get results?

Fennel seeds are not actually seeds at all, but the fruits of the sweet fennel plant. These seeds are very rich in minerals including magnesium. Two of its main constituents are Anethol and Fenchone. In that Anethol and other terpenoids may inhibit spasms in smooth muscles such as those in the intestinal tract. Fennel seeds may be yellowish or green colours in appearance. While the yellow variety is usually used in cooking, the greener variety is softer, naturally sweeter and much better as an oral digestive and a mouth freshener.

my suggestion:
You might be better off with Chasterberry or red clover or even fenugreek as these all have uses as an agent to help lactation--e.g. make bigger breasts.

Scientific information:
General uses
As an herbal medicine, fennel is reputed to stimulate lactation, promote menstruation, facilitate birth, ease male “menopause”, and increase libido. Research reveals no clinical data supporting the use of fennel as a stimulant for lactation or menstruation, although animal studies support a possible estrogenic effect.

What is the dosage of Fennel?
Fennel seed and fennel seed oil have been used as stimulant and carminative agents in doses of 5 to 7 g and 0.1 to 0.6 mL, respectively.

my take on this herb
[this would be an awful lot of fennel to take 2 or 3 times a day--not recommended]

Ok, hun. First off I am sorry to post all of this information. I would send it to yo in a PM. But you are not a member. BTW. membership is free. So please excuse the size of this post.
I am not going to say that you can't get results from using fennel seed alone. There are many ladies here on this forum that have had results from many diffrent kinds of NBE programs. Kind of a mantra here. What works for one, may not work for another. It takes time.
Yes, you can get fennel seed from locale food stores. Fennugreek, red clover, etc..Can sometimes be found localy as well. And cheaply. Where I live I can only find fenugreek at the local GNC. Exspensive. Of course it is an extract not whole herb. Anyway, the point is. You can find many of the herbs used in NBE without breaking the bank. Online purchases from online suppliers can be cost effective as well.

Let me give you some links to a few things to try.
First off. I would recomend begin a a massage program with heat added via heating pad afterwards. You would want to add this anyway, as it promotes breast health. (see our section on massage) Tiger Lily reported growth with just massage and eating certain foods in her diet. Mostly chicken foott soup. There are many paths to breast enlargment. You just keep searching until you find what works for you. We also have a section here on the forum for foods to eat while on NBE.

As to using fennel in your program. Here is the link to Fennel Fairys program page. While she did use fenugreek, she also used fennel.

Here are some recipes for making a fennel tea.
A.
4 cups water
1/2 cup honey, or to taste
1 tablespoon fennel seeds
4 orange-pekoe tea bags
Three 3-inch strips of lemon zest removed with a vegetable peeler plus additional for garnish
6 tablespoons fresh lemon juice, or to taste
B.
Preparation. In a saucepan stir together the water, the honey, and the fennel seeds and bring the mixture to a boil. Remove the pan from the heat, add the tea bags and 3 strips of the zest, and let the tea steep for 5 minutes. Strain the tea through a fine sieve set over a heatproof
pitcher, let it cool, and add the lemon juice. Chill the tea, covered, for 1 hour, or until it is very cold. Divide the iced tea among tall glasses filled with ice cubes and garnish each glass with some of the additional zest.
C.
1 Teaspoon Fennel Seed
1 Pinch Cardamom
1 Cup of Boiled Water
Sweeten to Taste
Steep the fennel and cardamom for 4-6 minutes, add sugar if desired.
Strain tea prior to serving.

When doing massage you uasually want some type of oil or fluid to help protect the skin. You can also add your fennel tea, fenugreek (if available) to it for better results. If you are intersted let me know and I will post some batter recipes here as well.

So I hope you find some of this helpful. Do some looking around. DOn't forget that we have an older site that is archived. Lots of info there. If you have any questions. Ask. You can PM me from my profile page. Or ask here.

Oh Sorry. Results vary from person to person. Id say try the tea 3 times a day. On a empty stomach. An hour before or after meals. As to raw amounts? I think I read 1/4 tsp three times daily with plenty of water. I use the tea myself. Might need to look around for that answer.

Fennel has long been praised for its abundance of flavonoids. These compounds exert mild estrogenic effects and are completely harmless and non-toxic. It can be found in some oils and teas.

As Andy recommended, you cn use some prapare tea. take his directions.

Have you tried Fenugreek Seed Extract though?

Fenugreek is a unique herb rich in phyto-estrogens. Fenugreek aids in hormonal production, and facilitates the development of the mammary glands which 'feed' on estrogens. Trigonelline, a chemical found in Fenugreek, has been in testing as a potential treatment for cancer as well.

Ok, no one has actually answered her questions. Here's what I can tell you from my own experience:
Fennel seeds are the bomb!!
I only took them for my first routine and definetly saw results quite quickly, it got me a while to get used to them and stop getting moody but they definetly worked. I only stopped taking them because I had to buy the fennel herb in bulk, and it was such a pain to have to separate the seeds from the rest of the plant.

Taking the seeds alone is a lot more potent. I still make tea with the rest of the fennel plant, and it still works, but not as much as taking the seeds directly.

Where did you find a jar of fennel seeds? I have yet to find them sold as a spice.
