Sorry for some reason I wasn't notified that there was a reply on here so I didn't know you had asked a question or posted the pics... okay
The picture of the roll of foam you had is what all of us used before I came up with the other padding. There are still lots of gals that use that one and love it. I just tended to get marks very easily so it wasn't working for me which was disappointing and I was having to buy alot and redo it constantly which was annoying.
Anyway, it cost me about 12 bucks total to fix my domes and they re still holding and going strong.
Some girls have said they managed to make it work without the silicone, since the inside edge of the tubes do have a edge of tape. I never could get it to stay on for me. It would leak air. If I were doing them then I would say yes, use silicone for sure, so that once they are done, they are done, and the only way it will come off is if you decide to remove it.... which amazingly isn't so hard considering it won't come off just from using them.
I would go find my thread on the padding with the directions in it and follow them. I did it in several steps in a 24 hour period to insure the silicone would dry since there was so much inside the tubes, which to me also is one of the reasons it worked so well at preventing marks on me. it created a firmer, wider base. Also you will want to shave down the inside foam once it is dried, so that you will still have plenty of room inside the domes, or it will put too much pressure on your nipples.
Hope this helps, Mel
