Herbs, hormones and blood sugar?

#1

Hi everyone! I'm not currently taking any herbs for NBE. I was taking 500mg of maca and 160mg SP (trying to improve my butt Wink ) but I've slacked and haven't taken either in over a week. I've seen comments about certain herbs affecting blood sugar and wondered if anyone can tell me which ones and how herbs and hormones affect it. My dr told me that I am "borderline hypoglycemic" and I don't know if taking herbs will help or make it worse. The last week (since the day before my period), the crashes have been more sudden, frequent and harder. That was also right after I stopped taking the maca. I don't know if any of this is related or not. If maca balances hormones, am I just screwing my body up by taking it irregularly? And I've read that you should take an anti androgen with it, but how much? If I'm taking 500mg maca, should I take 500mg SP as well?

Thanks for the help with my 20 questions! Huh Huh Huh

Hi sunshine,

The one herb that will make you see black is fenugreek. Avoid goat's rue too.

I do not understand the relation between hypoglycemia and maca. There may be one, because maca is a weight gain herb.

If you don't break out before starting maca, you don't need to take an anti-androgen with it.
