Raising temp

#1

I have been taking l tyrosine for over four weeks now but my temp will still not get to 98.2. Should I switch to kelp? I am worried I am wasting my money taking bo and protein shakes if my temp is not high enough. Any one have any ideas or similer plroblems?

Why not take both? or finish l tyrosine and try taking kelp. Maybe your not seeing the results from bo yet and you have to wait a little longer. You don't want to stop when its only been a month ;p
Maybe your body is more stubborn, everyone has there own unique set of chemical balances.

Hey Hopeful D/DD's,

I have been having the same "problem" but I am pretty convinced now that it is NOT a problem. My temps were always lower than 98.2 during my follicular phase (and they SHOULD be! you would have a thyroid problem also if your temps were as high as 98.2 during your follicular phase). Also, I don't know why people are telling us to take L-Tyrosine to bring up temperatures. I consume around 180 grams of protein a day (which means I get a ton of L-Tyrosine) and it hasn't effected my temperatures a bit. As for kelp, sure why not try it, but you should be careful with it because it is the iodine in the kelp that you are taking the kelp for, and if you take too much it can give you even more thyroid problems. This is, of course, assuming that you have thyroid problems due to an iodine deficiency. Only if this is the case, will kelp "work" for you.

Oh yes, and btw, the whole theory behind temperatures and kelp and L-Tyrosine is that these latter two things I mentioned theoretically will help a low thyroid. This is if you have hypothyroidism!!!!! If you don't, don't bother with any kelp, because you may (as I mentioned) actually give yourself a thyroid problem.

Since I honestly don't think I have hypothyroidism (and it is pretty obvious when one does--you can research the symptoms), my only goal was to bring up my temps by NOT affecting my thyroid (since a higher body temp, although often indicative of a healthy functioning thyroid [only in the follicular phase, as temps in the luteal phase are not affected by the thyroid] results in the liver being able to function better and convert T3 and T4). So, for the purpose of a better-functioning liver while avoiding messing with my thyroid, I was looking for something to bring up my temps without effecting my thyroid. But, I found out that if a person is not properly converting those T3 and T4 hormones, they become hyperthyroid, and I have none of those symptoms, either. So apparently, my BBT is high enough for my liver to function properly enough for me to grow from BO. So, I am just going to dismiss the whole "need to have high enough temps to grow from BO" thing altogether. After all, BBT readings are very sensitive and can be very inaccurate based on many environmental factors. At least that is my theory for now as to why my temps fluctuated so much and are so often low. It may have to do with timing and sleep (which I am VERY inconsistent with), so I can get back to you on that if you'd like. What time of the day do you take your BBT? Has your BBT never gotten up to 98.2 (it SHOULD in your luteal phase, so that would be a separate concerning matter)? Also, are you taking your BBT after eating? I usually don't get 3+ hours of sleep before I take my temps (I have very irregular sleeping patterns), even though I know that I should take my temps after having more than 3 hours of sleep. Otherwise, when I do get more sleep, my temps are significantly higher. Just a thought!

I hope this helped. Let me know if you have any other questions!

EDIT: Tibetan experienced much successful growth and you can see as she posted on my bust program page, that her temps were always very low until recently... and she experienced most of her growth before recently (so she grew with her temps being low). So, if I were you, I wouldn't be too concerned at all!!!!! Smile

Oh my goodness. Thank you so much. Honestly this is all so confusing and you help explain things in ways I can actually understand haha. So I will take my temp during both my Luteal and follicular phase to see where my temp is at right now and then go from there I Guess. Would you suggest just simply not taking l tyrosine pills at all bcsuse they really won't do that much?

Yes, I wouldn't. Unless you think you have a deficiency in that amino acid. That L-Tyrosine is an amino acid that stimulates the thyroid hormones. Iodine is something that is usually deficient when someone has hypothyroidism. So I wouldn't take either of these unless you suspected that you were deficient in either, because you could just be wasting your money OR (in the case of iodine), you could possibly overdose in iodine and give yourself an actual thyroid problem...

Take your BBT every morning at the same time and chart it for at least a month, maybe two for more certainty. Then compare it to the charts on this page to self-assess your possibility for either a problem with your thyroid or your adrenals: http://www.drrind.com/therapies/metaboli...ture-graph . That could be a way to start your self-assessment.

I wouldn't want you to dismiss the low temps if they are, in fact, indicative of something. For me, I do not have most of the symptoms and I am not deficient in iodine or other things that are needed for a good-functioning thyroid or liver, so I am dismissing it for now unless I come across something else in my research that might prove reason for me to be concerned. But, not only did Tibetan grow with low temps, but so did ItsJust4Fun and a few others (as I quote her, of course): http://www.breastnexus.com/showthread.php?tid=6645&highlight=%22mad+cow+disease%22 There, you see she says it is very rare for the case of herself and a few others to NOT have a thyroid problem causing their low temps (notice how she insinuates that it needs to be caused by a thyroid problem to affect breast growth). So, I wouldn't think that high temps are necessary. Probably more like overrated, in my opinion. But the fact is that for many or most, low temps are indicative of a problem. So, my first step if I were you would be to do my research and follow up on all the possibilities associated to low temps and see if any of them match your symptoms on the whole or your diet. And I don't mean just one or two or even three symptoms... I mean to have MOST of the symptoms. Especially the most common symptoms, such as weight gain. And to be even more sure, see your doctor and get tested for it. They should respect your concern.

But otherwise, as far as raising your temps go, I wouldn't be too concerned if I were you. You can see what Tibetan had to say about that on my thread... she thinks it is a cop-out for the BO companies to use if you DON'T gain from their product, so they cannot look at fault. I mean, it is actually unhealthy for a woman to have temps around 98.2 in their follicular phase, in my understanding! Based on all the "normal BBT chart" examples I have seen online. But the one bit of truth behind it, I will say again, is IF it is an indication of some underlying problem that a person has. Then, yes, breast growth will be very difficult without fixing the underlying problem.

Good luck! Keep us posted! And you can check up on my bust thread for any more posts on the topic, as I may find out more later, who knows....

Hi again Hopeful D/DDs!

BBT= Basal Body Temperature

The beginning of your cycle is the first day of real bleeding of your menses. Your follicular phase starts at the beginning of your cycle and continues through till the day before you ovulate. Ovulation marks the beginning of your luteal phase and continues through till the last day of your cycle (the day before the first day of your next cycle or, in other words, the day before the first day of real bleeding of your menses).

If you chart your BBT, you usually see a sharp dip in temperature (but not always) before a sudden spike in temperature (always) mid-way through your cycle. This sudden drastic dip in temperature is usually due to a sudden extra surge of estrogen that your body naturally releases at the onset of ovulation to help release the egg. The sudden spike in temperature within 24 hours later is--you guessed it--you've ovulated and the egg is on it's way. Once ovulation has occurred, estrogen levels drop and progesterone levels increase, resulting in the higher temperature in luteal phase. Estrogen makes your temps drop, and progesterone raises them. See the attached BBT chart below to get an idea... and here is a link you may find helpful as it goes into more detail about the things of which I wrote above. http://hubpages.com/hub/The-Link-Between...-Pregnancy

And here is a link confirming my notion that body temperatures going as low as around 97 degrees DO NOT HAVE TO indicate a problem: http://conception.lifetips.com//cat/2365...index.html
