Well, my friend definitely has hypothyroidism, and is going to begin taking medicine for it. This is why she hasn't grown at all so far from NBE.

I've read quite a few posts at this point, and we're getting a better idea as to what she may need to try to possibly achieve growth finally.

However, is there anyone else who is taking levothyroxine synthroid, 75 mcg? That's the exact pill and dose she's going to be getting on and would like to know if anyone else has used this medication with NBE.

if you take any type of medication for hypothyroidism, please answer as well.

Do you take that specific brand? What have you done to get NBE success while on medication for hypothyroidism? What do you seem to respond to, and what do you respond negatively to? (tibetin, I've already read your long post to someone before, so you don't need to answer lol)

Hey Doll! But I will respond anyway. And as you know, hypos can grow, its just a lot slower.

I grew without meds. but I knew what I needed at the time. This was the reason why I took my tests so extensively for nbe.
Did they find out the cause of her being hypo? Did she take an antibody test for hashis? Most docs miss this. Make sure she does not have hashimoto's as this is an entirely different approach for healing. I am barely in the second month of taking levo and cytomel.

If she doesn't have T3 (readily absorbable form of thyroid compound) She better have good functioning liver or else the levo will be useless. Many of us can't convert the t4 into t3 which is why docs commonly subscribe a combo of t4/t3. T4 being the more and t3 being the less. I am currently on 75 mcg of levo(t4) and am titrating up on cytomel (t3) till my hairloss resolves.

Hairloss is a common symptom of haulting your own t4 production from introducing the meds. One has to titrate up on the combo till it resolves and then you should have your current suitable dose (this of course always changes).
Also, if her cortisol is shot, she will most likely not benefit from thyroid meds at all until adrenals are healed, working properly.

Don't let her lose hope cause nothing has work for her yet. I was this way and left nbe thinking cause my thyroid and adrenals weren't operating like the average that growth was impossible. But its not.

I learned progesterone is more so a thyroid's buddy as estrogen is the enemy! So if she is already estro dominance, she def will most likely not grow.

If its just hypothyroidism, she can take a potassium iodide supplement (lugol's, iodoral tabs, kelp). Of course she should stay away from chlorine and flouride and she will easily fix this.

i'm on PM. i do use PC cream at the end of my cycle but it makes me constipated so i use it sparingly. i think most of my growth is from brava. i was on BO before i found out about my thryroid issues. BO made everything worse. noogling for 2 years had no effect. taking maca, milk thristle, and hops (combined, as well as individually) stunts my growth so i stay away from those now.

it'll be a struggle, but growth is possible.

Thanks for the response! It's greatly appreciated! Don't worry, she's getting discouraged (especially since my growth has been so fast!), but she's definitely not giving up! We're both sure that she will start to see slow growth once she gets this medication.

She is getting blood tests done next week, 4 of them. Her doctor is a moron and said that there is no saliva test like she'd requested, and so she's going to try to do one on her own if the blood tests all come back as being negative. I honestly don't think she's got Hashi's, as she has every single symptom of hypothyroidism, and those symptoms never change.

We were considering trying to supplement with iodine, but we aren't sure that that's the actual cause, so she'd rather start out with the blood tests and go from there. Her hypo meds would only be about $4 a month or so, so she would just rather take those. I am worrying that her adrenals may be too stressed (she's got a very stressful life unfortunately), so I hope that doesn't affect the meds from working once she gets them. Although I think the fact that she's still been cleansing pretty often for NBE has probably been helping out.

Around the beginning of her NBE, even though it's hard to tell using a symptom checker because of her other health problems, we figured she might be estrogen dominant, so we began her on PC. She swelled up maybe a cup or more the first time she used it! When she's able to take her herbs again after her blood tests, I was thinking maybe trying her on 320mg SP extract and just PC. Possibly a low dose of FG just to make sure she doesn't become progesterone dominant.

Sorry I don't understand the thyroid too well, I'm still trying to learn about everything. ^^; But thanks for all your help! We know it'll be harder for her to grow, but that it is possible!

Wow, noogling didn't even help? I never even thought that thyroid problems might affect that! But it's good to know that you at least responded better after getting on medication.

Her hypothyroidism actually makes her so constipated, she goes once every week or two and has constant migraines because of it. So it's very hard to tell how the things she's taking are actually affecting her. Maybe once she gets on this stuff she'll be able to judge better what helps with certain problems and what makes them worse.

I read before that PM is bad for those with thyroid problems, and could actually make the breasts shrink. But it's been helping you? I really do think PC will be her main cure, so we'll probably start with that and see what happens. We'll also be sure to watch out for those herbs from now on, although I still think it'd be within her best interest to milk thistle cleanse every three months for a week.

she says GroBust is actually helping her. She can tell a difference with that, where with just regular herbs she actually lost a little fullness. I think it's because her body already produces enough estrogen, and GroBust has just enough mg of herbs in it to slightly raise her estrogen without raising it too high to see results. It also has a few other herbs that we weren't using on our own, and those are probably helping as well. Once she gets on thyroid meds, we'll probably just see how she does on GroBust, SP and PC.

I was reading that taking T4/T3 is more beneficial at night. And SInce I take two doses and take calcium and iron, I felt I should try this as supposedly, these two things inhibit or somehow mess with the absorption of the medication(T3). Just something to note in case her Doc puts her on the combo.

I think its working for me. I take my first dose at night on empty stomach and early in the am around 6. I feel while we sleep, its working in the body, peacefully. She should get some results after a month of being on T4(if her liver converts it). Fat distribution takes place and she'll notice more in the right places. But if she is still not going to the bathroom, this will be a nightmare.

WHen I experienced this, I had a tummy, acne and yada yada. Here is what helped me get things moving:

fruit/coconutmilk shakes 2 times day. Some form of chlorophyll, Flax fiber and apples, apples, apples till I went. Real fresh Pineapples too.


Once she gets things moving, hormones will take. Goodluck!

Ah, so confusing! >.<
So, even though calcium normally helps with absorption (I believe), that's not the case with thyroid meds? She's been using Breakfast Essentials like me to help with vitamin deficiencies (we both had a K deficiency and got bruises all over our legs), so she'll just have to make sure she doesn't drink that while taking her meds.

She took OxyElitePro before for fat loss, and this year when she took it, she wondered why she didn't lose weight. Turns out that's because she hardly has any fat left, it's just her body storing excess water weight all over! Lol We're expecting her legs and arms to shrink drastically once she starts on this stuff, and her already thin stomach (when she's going) will probably get even thinner! Her measurements are already 32DD-25/26-43, I have no idea what she'll look like once the changes start happening!!! Lol

I didn't know apples could help you go. She's been using Vitamin Shoppe's Miracle Fiber with minimum results. However, those minimal results are a LOT better than any results from anything else, so I think it'll really help her once she gets everything into her system. Maybe we'll see if apples help even more!

Its just for T3. Its very possible her doc. may have her move to the combination if she doesn't feel any better just on T4. So if she is taking only T4, I believe she'll be okay but I would just make it a habit to take it either into the sleep or early in the am hours away from food and other supplements.

Pretty much all fruits have enzymes and apples have good enzyme/fiber content. So apples in the mornin, apples inbetween meals. She'll go.

As far as her size now, Wow, good thing she developed well before she got hypothyroidism.

Hi Doll - I take levothyroxine 75 mcg (which I've been taking for years). Once your friend starts taking the medication and her thyroid settles to normal, will (or do you think) she will start responding to NBE?

I've had no results yet with hypnotherapy, massage & FSO (started 3 months ago). I am considering taking Wonderup, or maybe red clover (I've heard PM is a no no with thyroid issues).

Please let us know what she decides to take and what results she gets.

As I said above, I've read PM is a no no, do you know of any other herbs which you can't take with this medication?
