I woke up with horrific pain and heavy flow so took 15 drops and within a couple of hours probably less it just eased to nothing so take it as needed or alternatively you can take it a few days leading up to your cycle. But for me it was instantaneous u wont get it in time for this cycle but it will be a godsend your next one. Its job is to stem bleeding. Hope you are feeling better now
Hi Ella, I bought it also @iherb, 2 oz for $15 US.
I need to find out if it is better to take it the whole cycle or just as you said (a few days before the period starts). Would be great though if it could increase the breasts, lol.
After I wrote here yesterday the bleeding finally almost stopped. I took a tablet of diclofenac which apparently can stop exessive bleeding. But I would rather take a herb, than a chemical drug...
Regarding dong quai, Lotus wrote me:
Mistress~Lotus Wrote:To me it almost seems to be a adaptogen, or even a Potentiator, for what your goal is. Extract is more costly but seems to offer a better/faster absorption as you know. Dong Quai says it has estrogen properties but doesn't go into detail from what I've read.
It does have issues with clotting so if you have heavy menses be careful...
I did read a report that dong quai caused e-receptor cancer cell growth "in vitro", so other then that's all I know.
Since I have heavy menses I am not going to order it.
Also the e-receptor cancer cell growth "in vitro" sounds scary.
OH Peggy I better re look into that then re DQ and the above statement, that to be perfectly honest is what stopped me using Natureday, the addition of dong quai and that very concern.
You know I will give that some great thought and looking into, it might well be a case of doing what you were thinking of and creating my own blend without the addition of DQ. Thanks for that Peggy.
Yes good old iherb!!! Ok il post you what Lotus found on ladys man.
Its the Tannis (6-8%) which causes the contractions, may protect conjunctive and elastic tissues. Also contains salicylic acid, described as having a mild painkilling action for painful menstrual periods.
So it looks like it increases blood flow into the tissues because of the astringent properties, and that blood flow or circulation increases fat deposits which cause the breast growth. And because of the contractions from the astringent it's also claimed that it helps with saggy breasts.
But back to Lady's. If I were you id just wait until your next cycle, have the Lady's on hand and use it IF and when you need too. I did read to take it a few days leading up to your cycle but because I found it worked straight away then you might not need to go that far.
Ps I will keep in touch with you if I decide to blend my own ND blend without the DQ because I'm hopeless with measuring out dosages etc. Thanks.
