While I can't speak about your gynecologist, I can say that many, if not most, MDs are not familiar with herbal supplements. All they know about is pharmaceuticals. (ok, "all" is a heck of a lot to know). So, unless you luck out and find a doc who realizes that it's their job to know about the interaction of supplements with pharmaceuticals, they might not be too helpful. I say that it's their job because many, many people are taking natural supplements and some of them do react with pharmaceuticals, so how can the doc do a good job if they don't know this area?
