So, I just finished one of the best periods I've had in a long time... I know to many that sounds weird, but considering I've been buried under covers with blankets on the windows due to migraines on and off for about a year, it's an amazing feeling.
I had no emotional symptoms or cramping warning that my period was going to start. I did however develop a migraine the night before. I woke up the next morning though and the headache was gone and my period started. I had some cramping that first day and then nothing. It was like not even being on my period. No cramps, no headaches, no emotional rollercoasters. This was achieved while taking the low dose 50mg of pueraria mirifica each morning to help pull up my estrogen level enough to stop the symptoms.
My period only lasted 5 days.... YES!!! This too makes my day.
So today is day 7 of my cycle and tomorrow I will increase my pm dosage to the 100mg once in the morning and once at night.
My experience of my first full cycle on pm was not an instant fix. I think it takes time for the body to adjust to pm and to gradually begin pulling the hormone levels up. I still had some headaches off and on throughout the cyle, but they were mild and dull and easily ignored compared to my normal headaches. I ended up only having 2 maybe 3 actual migraines, so that is a drastic reduction in them. I still have drops in my estrogen from time to time, so I'm hoping the new changes to my program will help. My first cycle was only taking pm on day 1-12. I ended up with a 32 day cycle with this method. As I said before, I have no problem with my cycle being changed in length so for me I don't consider that to be a bad side effect.
I also increased in fullness according to how my bras fit and look. I had no change across the bust on the measuring tape, but I developed more cleavage and upper chest tissue and my upper breast area went from 37 to 37 1/2, which explains the cleavage increase.
Current measurements after first month on PM
Upper breast 37 1/2
across breast 39 1/2
under breast 30
wieght 139. 4 so no increase, but I'm still working to get a pound or two off... just in time for the holidays so that's not likely..haha
