With UB I'd say it took a few weeks of taking it everyday as suggested before I felt any tingles or anything, and once I took it for a couple of months omg the growing pains started to get really intense, not going to lie. Like I usually sleep on my sides, it would hurt so bad sometimes that I had to sleep on my back! Cause any pressure or touching them hurt soo bad. But it was all worth it.
Also I noticed growing signs when I got at least 80-90g of protein per day, I would get probably 60g through my regular eating then in the morning or night time I would have a protein shake. I got the non-flavored protein isolate from NOW brand and would mix it in chocolate milk, make brownies with it, put it in soups, put it in smoothies, milk shakes, etc. etc. Possibilities are endless with it. I noticed if I didn't get that much protein, it didn't work as well. So protein is definitely key.
As far as your hormones, not sure hun. That's not my field of knowledge, maybe others can help you to know more about that.
