Yes there’s a strong connection between PCOS and insulin resistance. They are connected because when the body becomes resistant to insulin, the pancreas compensates by producing more of it. This excess insulin can then stimulate the ovaries to produce more androgens (like testosterone), which disrupts ovulation and worsens the PCOS symptoms. So basically what we're talking about here is a pathway like this: more insulin, means more androgens, means more ovulatory dysfunction, means worsening PCOS.
