This excess insulin can then stimulate the ovaries to produce more androgens (like testosterone), which disrupts ovulation and worsens the PCOS symptoms. So basically what we're talking about here is a pathway like this: more insulin, means more androgens, means more ovulatory dysfunction, means worsening PCOS.
