Yes it is extremely common atleast in western society, I mean havnt you ever seen any English speaking classic movies and they have the urn of their family member? It's a wonderful way to honour a passed one because it means they can be with you forever, whereas with some burials/graves, they actually don't have that spot for life, eventually the buried are removed and cremated etc as they need to make space for others, this is ofcourse unless you buy a plot for eternity.
Thank you for the support, she was my everything, it's been incredibly lonely without her, we would always be together, making pots of herbal tea, gossiping and watching shows, she wasnt just my Oma she was my best friend, I miss her dearly.
I have very long almost butt length red hair(straight naturally) with green eyes, but this is a common trait for redheads with European ancestry, actually moreso blue eyes as green eyes are the rarest colour to have, I know full Irish redheads tend to have more frizzy and/or curly hair. Yes the UV rays can be quite strong here in Australia, however we have a higher standard of sunscreen protection than other countries so we are protected anyways unless someone was silly enough not to wear sunscreen, personally I'm very pale and love being so, I can tan a little bit but choose not to. As for the spiders and such that's all fear mongering from other countries lol you don't see things like snakes, kangaroos, koalas etc unless you live in the country side/outback, many of us live in suburban areas or big cities where these things simply aren't seen, I don't even remember the last time I saw a kangaroo or snake tbh, spiders yeh but even them I rarely see and most aren't actually dangerous here besides like the white tip or red back spiders etc etc which aren't very big but every country has dangerous spiders that's a universal thing, alot of the internet is AI fake videos showing these gigantic spiders that simply don't exist here
the biggest we have is the tarantula, and I've never had one in my houses because we are quite tidy people and don't live in the bush/country side. I feel unfortunately alot of the fear mongering comes from Americans who have never even been to Australia to actually factually state such things.

I really only have my parents for support plus a guy friend irl, but I'm coping ok, have had a few breakdowns in tears but that's expected. Also yes I do speak a little bit of German, I tend to pick it up well from dad or what was from my Oma, and my Oma and Opa moved to Australia from Germany when my dad was a lil kid, they wanted to start a new life here with businesses etc, (back then loads of people would migrate here from different countries, and still do as we are a multicultural country made up of lots of different nationalities)
