Another thing I forgot to mention is I do occasionally get migraines. Nothing debilitating but enough to stop what I’m doing and take a break. I have read that aside from physiological and psychological stress, sudden increases or decreases in estrogen levels can cause migraines in women, as well as men who were found to have higher levels of estradiol. Women often get them just before their period starts, but I will get them before, during and after, basically any time. I have also had periods without any migraines at all.
I started NBE officially with just fennel tea and nothing else. I made a strong infusion with crushed fennel seeds and drank two cups per day. At the time I did not correlate this to the migraines I got, which were more intense than usual. I think there is a possibility that fennel does have a significant effect on my hormones, and with prolonged use may very well affect my breasts. I did add spearmint and fenugreek later on with no noticeable change in my migraines, but less irritability. The migraine I got lasted about 4 days, which is not usual for me as mine are gone within the day, or lasts well into the next day at the latest. I finished up the tea recently and the last few days there has been no migraine. Maybe I got used to it, maybe my hormones balanced themselves with time, not sure, but I will revisit the fennel only tea in the future to see if it was the trigger.
I will be testing PM soon so I will be on the look out for similar effects.
