new formula mirifem
April 8 2007, 5:32 AM
The mirifem is different primarily because it is an extract vs the "powdered" form of PM. This is why the dose is smaller in terms of "milligrams". Now the PM is mixed with other herbs and nutritionals, some of which are estrogenic. This is controversial. There are some, experts in the field that feel it only "dilutes" the activity of miroestrol to do this.
I personally do not know "why" the formula was changed except supplement manufacturer's often "redo" the formulas for marketing purposes as well as to appeal to a wider range of prospective customers. They are obviously trying to improve on an already effective product by adding other "popular" herbs know to be used for breast enhancement. The science supporting the effectiveness of the other herbs is not as convincing as it is for the Pueraria. Having said this, the other weaker phytoestrogen in it, are used by many women, and perhaps they want to appeal to them as well...expand the customer base.
I guess like many things we will have to depend upon each other and our own personal experience with this new product to know if it is any better or not.
I personally will be checking in here to see what the feedback is on this new formula.
Mirifem is going to launch the new official website on the 14th of April. Perhaps when they do they will answer some of the questions regarding the new formula.
As far as spirulena....I honestly do not know. If I find anything specific as to why this is added, I will let you all know....I am a bit baffled myself!!! Spirulena is popular and they are trying to make a more well rounded supplement....hence the name, "Full Potential".
The business about the 30 day vs the 14 day course..St Herbs pills are prescribed exactly as they were taken in clinical trial for the study of PM for hormone replacement and breast enhancement in Thailand by researchers. They are strong pills. The high dose followed by cessation for 14 day allows for you normal hormonal cycle to continue uninterupted. If you don't stop the st herb pills your periods may get irregular. This doesn't seem to happen with the amount of extract used in the Mirifem brand.
Have I answered the questions? I hope so to what degree I can. As they publish more information about the product, I may have more substantial facts to give and will be happy to so so.
Best as always...

So with the new formula, do you suggest taking everyday as recommended or 15dys on/15dys off?

Dosage = What the company recommends

I think you should take them according to what it says on the bottle. You shouldn't experiment. If they say every day - take them every day, if not - don't.

I just remember that eventually the Mirifem users also changed to 15 dys on/15 dys off. I think the manufacturer also eventually changed the instructions after everyone was having abnormal cycles with the old formula. I just wondered if that would be the same with the new formulation. I would like to try PM and the Mirifem is a little cheaper.I am just trying to minimize any potential problems by asking questions before taking it.

New Formula Mirifem - everyday dose
April 15 2007, 7:30 AM
The new formula is 60 count and the suggested use is 1 caplet 2 times daily. There is no instruction to take for 15 days on and 15 off. This might be easier for some women to do...the high dose on and off as with the st herb formula is a bit "tricky" for some.
