Win a boob job

Zoo magazine has been criticised for running a "Win a boob job for your girlfriend!" competition. It said "Make your lady a more rounded individual with our feel-good, selfless, world-first competition. Zoo is giving away a £4k boob job for your partner and a £1k cash prize for you!" The ad could put pressure on some women to have potentially harmful surgery and so is irresponsible, the Advertising Standards Authority ruled.

It's a very smart move on Zoo's part as it's got full media coverage for the magazine. Anyway wouldn't most of the Zoo readers girlfriends be too young for getting cosmetic surgery, cos you're supposed to be at least 18!

I think this competition is superficial and wrong. It gives men the idea that they have the right to decide that their girlfriend's body is not up to scratch. If my boyfriend told me that I had won a boob job I would slap him around the face!

Its just another thing thats making girls feel like we have to change to be accepted or feel better about ourselves!! It makes me furious! Girls are put under so much pressure by crappy mags and tv shows etc that have air brushed skinny girls on them - if u took away their fakeness they'd be prettier in their natural state!! My boyfriend agrees with me - he cant stand girls in those mags and pittys them!

I think that the competition was a great idea and would have been chuffed to bits if my boyfriend had entered for me cos we can't afford for me to get a boob job although it is something that I have wanted for about 10 years.

Do readers of Zoo actually have real girlfriends then?

If someone already wants to have a boob job I can't see the problem. Otherwise it could result in someone having surgery who has not thought it out fully.

Well there wouldn't be any harm in something like this if someone already knew his girlfriend was unhappy with her breast size. Depends on everyone's circumstances. Don't knowck something which could change someone's life forever and which they might neverhave been able to afford otherwise.
