I made a homemade self tanner last night
ahh I love it!! The recipe I found online called for black tea, but I didn't have any so I used Celestial tea's gingerbread spice tea, 5 bags in 2 cups of water in a spray bottle. And I just sprayed on like 4 coats and sponged any drips away, and it turned out really even and natural looking!! I have gradual tanner, the colour the tea gave me would be equivalent to me using the gradual tanner for at least 3-4 times. And it smells so good on my skin!! I sprayed it on, dabbed it with the sponge, let it dry, repeated . & then once I was done I smothered myself in coconut oil. I highly recommend this!!
The gingerbread tea kind of gave me a flush similar to a weak niacin flush but I think that is due to the cinnamon and ginger in it, a regular black tea probably wouldn't do this. I think you could use any tea but it should be high in tannins as these are what colour the skin. But yea I'm going to do it a few more times and see how dark I get!
