it's the changes in hormones. depo is a pretty heavy duty shot but because PM is so strong, when you stopped it, the change probably caused a lot of cleaning out of the uterus. I'd see the ob/gyn if it's heavy bleeding for sure.
It's understandable with things like endometriosis and adenomyosis to be on the depo shot, but 8 years straight is a bit long to have no periods (normally they have breaks for bleeding in the schedule so that your reproductive health remains somewhat healthy)....the uterine lining has to be replenished every so often. With all that said, heavy bleeding--> see a doc. Yesterday.
