Ridiculous bra fitters
#5

I just recently posted another thread about 'barely filling a B but I'm supposed to be a DD?" and the answer is...YES!

If you haven't already, please, please, please take some time to read through the website and use the measurement calculator on:
http://www.brasizecalculator.tk (sometimes the link doesn't want to load for me, so try it a few times if you have the same problem).

I've always worn a 34B because it was the only size that I even tried on in stores that looked like it fit. However, I've never felt comfortable in bras - the straps would always fall off my shoulder, I'd always have to readjust the cups throughout the day, and I couldn't wait to get home and take that sucker off. After watching the really awesome video posted in this section called 'Stop What You're Doing and Watch This' (which I also highly recommend), I came up with the measurement of 30DD.

Now, I really couldn't see how if I barely filled a B, I could really be a DD. I got some reassurances from the awesome people on this website, and I decided to order a bunch of bras from Nordstrom's online (since I've never seen a 30DD in any store). Just for comparison, I also ordered some 30D ones, which is the sister size to my 34B. (They have an AMAZING return policy and free shipping, so I know I can send anything back that doesn't work).

Wearing 34B bras always made me feel like I was kind of on the flat side. I have to tell you, putting on a bra with a correct size band felt revolutionary. The minute I put those new bras on, my posture improved without me consciously doing anything! All of a sudden, I could stand up straight, I felt this weight immediately lifted. My profile changed dramatically; when I look at myself sideways, I'm standing straighter, my bust is more prominent and my stomach is flatter (because I'm not hunching).

And what's more, to see myself 'slightly' too big in a 30D made me realize that I wasn't as flat as I'd been feeling (even though I would like to be a bit bigger and rounder). The straps no longer needed to be pulled up my shoulders, and there is nothing to adjust during the day.

Don't listen to that ignorant fitter who says you should settle for ill-fitting bras! You will have to order what you need online, but it's out there and it will make you feel sooooo much better!
