Yea, the $50 mangoes are grown specially in Okinawa part of Japan. Apparently they use the best soil and whatever to grow them. I'm not entirely sure how big they are, I saw them on TV, but apparently they are very good.
I have seen really tiny mangoes imported from the Philippines, but I don't know how good they are. They always look beaten up and old, so I haven't tried them.
I wish I could eat mangoes everyday. I am definitely going to chow down on some when I go to visit the US in the summer. Along with other fruits I miss (cherries, raspberries, blackberries, nectarines, white peaches etc
