East of Eden,

I am confused about Chicken is expensive. Do you live in the states?
Taking a multivitamin is highly recommended for NBE, and since money seems to be a factor, thought I would share with you.
I take Puritan's Pride ONE time released multivitamin. It's a bottle of 60. If you buy 2 you get 3 free, so the total after shipping was around $26 US dollars. Since you only take 1 a day, and you get 5 bottles, that's 10 months of multivitamins. That's roughly 12 cents a day. Pretty cheap.

East of Eden,

MSM brands - the best way to tell is to just try what you bought. I remember reading one post where a woman was taking one brand of MSM with no results, then changed to Carlson's and got results from it.

Protein powder is a good idea if you get a good one. If you get one that is soy based, make sure to take plenty of B12, L-Tyrosine, and kelp because if it is an effective one it may slow the thyroid. In the past when women have been on herbal routines and on a whey protein powder, they don't get far. I think it may be because the protein binds with the phytoestrogens. It is better to avoid the powders for NBE in my opinion. If you want to do soy, drink a cup of soy milk per day. Make sure that it is non-GMO soy.

Kelp - Nature's Way. Follow the label. For L-Tyrosine, use Twin Lab. I think that those are 500mg. Once per day should be good. B12, yep 100mcg is very good, but take it in a B complex, not B12 by itself.

Hi MoK217

I don't live in the States...I am up here in CanadaSmile I guess everything is relative...I suppose chicken really isn't that expensive...it's just that my budget is pretty tight. I can only spend $120/month on food.
I should really find a way to make more money!!
But anyway, thanks for the tip. I'm sure shipping would be more to Canada, but where are you buying this multivitamin from?

Puritanspride.com is the website I get most of my cap herbs from. They are a great company to buy from. I read up on the shipping, and it seems they charge you by weight, and then an additional $4.95 for handling purposes. That really stinks. Is there an internet company there similar? Maybe they wouldn't charge so much for shipping from a Canadian company.

Hi Wahaika,

Ok..I got the B complex and kelp (couldn't find Nature's way so Jamieson brand will have to do!) I am however having trouble finding L-Tyrosine....I found L-Lysine...I'm not sure what the difference is. I also hear people mention 5HTP...which I also found. What are the differences between all of these? Is there a particular website where I can find the L-Tyrosine?

Thanks in advance!

Hi East of Eden,

U.S. (Might ship to Canada)
http://www.vitacost.com/Twinlab-L-Tyrosine-Plus
http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=l-tyrosine&x=0&y=0

Canada
http://www.feelgoodnatural.com/health-fo...2/NOW00162
http://www.aviva.ca/shop/products.asp?itemid=1724&catid=187

GNC:

5-HTP is a precursor to seratonin. Seratonin increases HGH production among its other effects.

L-Lysine and L-Arginine (and others) help with HGH production among other things to take these for individually. If taken together, these have a better effect on HGH production than alone. But they compete for the same receptor, so if taking these together, substitute Arginine Pyroglutamate for regular L-Arginine.

Hi Wahaika,

Ok...I managed to find the L-tyrosine!!! My arsenal of herbs is now complete!!!!

I am on Day 6 of my NBE routine and I just have a quick question about day 18 of ramping up. My cycle last month was exactly 28 days. Do you think then that I should stop all herbs completely on day 14? or leave it at day 18 if you think it is too early. Do most people even do this?

Thanks!

Hello East of Eden!

The only reason to do that is if the herbs cause cycle problems such as midcycle bleeding, problematic differences in menstruation, etc. - problems that are associated with ovulation.

Stopping for those days is usually not done unless trying to solve a problem.

Good luck!

Hi Wahaika,

I am now on day 20 of my journey. I have been at 1500mg of all three herbs for about a week now. So far I don't really think I have had any signs of growth. The only thing maybe is that my nipples seem to be more sensitive than before. Today was the first day that I ramped up my fenugreek to 2000 mg per day. Tomorrow I am thinking that I will ramp it up to 2500. Is this what I should be doing? or should I just ramp to 2000 with all three herbs and evaluate before continuing on to higher dosages. I really don't want to stall. Sorry if I'm not being clear...it's all so confusing!
