So I've been using breast massage along with some pumping for the past few weeks. About one week ago, I was massaging and felt a lump. I focused on the lump - trying to figure out the size, and while I was doing that I felt what can only be described as a "crack" and the lump seemed to be gone. That spot was very tender for about a day and a half, and there's no lump there anymore. I've been doing some light massaging since then, but stopped pumping. I have a doctor's appointment in about 3 weeks to discuss this. I looked up that it might be fibrocystic lump. This happened when I was ovulating. Has anyone else had an experience like this?
hi nellnell8 ..there's not much i can tell you but i've read many studies that say we don't get enough iodine through diet and we need this for our health, especially breasts need iodine to stay healthy  lookHERE   andHERE   ..there are a lot of iodine products on amazon, i've taken kelp tablets, lugols 5% although you mostly find 2% and ionic iodine by 'trace minerals' ..also, my doctor told me some time ago not to drink much coffee because it wasn't good for my breasts ..this was in response to the fluid-filled cysts in the breast he would occasionally have to aspirate ..they were benign but it worried him. i drink tea, now, mostly oolong tea  ...it has about 1/3 the caffeine. the massage you're doing contributes to breast health if nothing else. this next thing i'm about to say is mostly based on stuff i've read but, estrogen, being a sex hormone can drive cells pretty hard and progesterone, among other things, acts like a counter-balance  ..i swear i can't remember the details ..i may be wrong but i think it may reduce the number of estrogen receptors that our cells express  ..i hope someone can help me remember ..maybe lotus. i use a bit of pro-gest ..i don't use a lot, though. let us know how you're doing, ok???

Thanks for all the helpful feedback Solome! I've been hearing a lot about iodine lately - I'll check out those links and definitely read up about that. I do have 1 - 2 cups of coffee per day, so that's something I can definitely work on. What were the fluid filled cysts you had called? Maybe I had something similar? On this site, and general internet browsing, I've been reading up about estrogen dominance and I absolutely believe that I have that. I plan on discussing it at my upcoming appointment and talk about having hormones tested. Then, depending on results, I was thinking about adding a progesterone cream. I've read that getting a compounded cream at a pharmacy is a good way to go for progesterone cream, so that's the next thing I may look at adding. I'll definitely message back on this thread with an update Smile
i don't know what the cysts are ..i know they can come and go on their own. i haven't had one in a long time ... massage has helped, i'm sure ...reducing caffeine, maybe  ...healthy dietary habits, probably.
