Why yes I'm an engineer. Lol. Have two engineering degrees and repair equipment and automobile as a hobby. As far as depth. At lease as deep as the opening is wide. So that you nipple doesn't touch the dome. And as for measuring. Kind of along the lines that the attached phot shows.
