Anyone.
I've been using brava for 8 weeks. On week 6 and 7 I was still getting good edema, and breasts were swelling to about D cup. Now, however, edema seems to be far less. Still drinking lots of water. Is there an explanation for this? is this common?

I know it is still vacuuming at a steady pressure of 25-28 mmHG steady pressure. But things are really different, as there just isn't the great swelling as before.

Breast are NOT discolored. They are healthy and a little thicker. Just less swelling.
I do use them circa 14 -15 hr per night.

But still. Why not the great swelling?

Thanks for insights. Any good websites in UK for Brava nonsurgical use?

It not the swelling you get on a daily basis with Brava. It's the small incremental growth you get every day. Which adds up over the months and months you have to use it. So I wouldn't worry. Just keep consistent with your routine.
Thanks Karren,

So, then this must be an adaptation of tissue thickening? That was my hypothesis, too, but without a forum for Brava, I didn't even know if anyone had the experience the reduction of swelling.

I appreciate the support!

How long did you use Brava, and Did you actually maintain your gain? And did you combine the nutrient support along with massages too? Just wondering how to maximize my effort, here.

Finally, should I be looking for XL domes if currently into a L dome and only 1/2 to 1/4 of the way through my program ? (want to go 20 wks, min.) I am indeed having nipple within 2 inches close to the edge of the dome. But perhaps the best way to handle that is to tape the nipples?

Grateful for help!
Appreciatively, Zoie

Hi there,

Since you responded to my question with such a detailed answer, I'd like to repay with mine Tongue

I used Brava for about 23 weeks last year (had to stop due to holiday season, lots of traveling with family... :S), and I guess I can share a bit of my experience regarding swelling. First of all, yes, I did experience and feel the same way as you feel now. For the first two to three or maybe even four weeks, I was totally blown away by the swelling, even though they shrank back to the original by the end of the day. But after maybe four weeks, the maximum amount of swelling seems to remain the same for me, even almost towards the end of the 23 week circle, however, I did notice that every day by the end of the day, the remaining amount seems to be gradually increasing. Also, the maximum swelling seems to fluctuate a bit due to our period, it's slightly larger the week before the period in my case. So yes, like Karren said, this is prolly a sign of real tissue growth, so congrats! Keep up the good work! As of my end result by my first circle, since I dont have kids, I guess I'm a slow res ponder, even so, I prolly grew about a cup or so. I only stopped for about a month during holiday season, so all I can say is after a month, the growth maintained. Oh, and Ididnt try herbal help. Anyway, just a bit of my experience, hopefully that helps. I'm currently in week 5 of my second treatment Smile Keep up the good work!
Thank you SO MUCH for your reply. I've read volumes of papers about limb lengthening, tissue expansion, Brava expansion, and just about every tidbit about the scientific process. But it is just DIFFERENT when you get right down to the nuts and bolts! I feel a bit helpless without a support group to share their own experiences --especially now that Brava has shut down. So I am grateful for hearing about your news. Wow. Fascinating.

One thing I can share immediately is a scientific paper by Schlenz and Kaider 2006 [attachment=11837] that did document various successes of 40 women.(Perhaps you already have the paper?) You can see from the article that women with no children did just as well as women WITH children. Perhaps one aspect that was relevant to success was Body Mass Index (BMI). The authors state that those that had BMI below 18 did NOT do well with growth, so nutrition does play a key role. So in your second round, you can take heart that you don't have to worry about the child bearing factor!

Wow. 26 weeks. That is tremendous. I hope I can get near that. But isn't it the case that our vacation life does rule us : ). My husband has been a gem for supporting me in this adventure. Still, its hard to lug the domes up in the mountains --the mid summer will be my stop time.

It sounds as though you too achieved some growth. So it will be VERY interesting to see if you can make it work for you again.

Please confirm that the paper I attached came your way. Thank you EVER so much for sharing your experience.

It will be equally interesting to learn how you might have done, after reading the paper and comparing your experiences with those of the 40 women in the paper. I have always tried to keep a bit too trim (my undoing, in general, I think). So I'm going to make sure I eat nutritiously well, and build my collagen up --perhaps using SurferJoe's recipes, and focus on Isometric work outs rather than aerobic work outs .

Thanks again, and Good wishes, Zoie

Hey there,

Thanks so much for such a scientific discussion again Wink The paper did come through, and I read it Wink I'm also a researcher but in a quite different field, so I read papers in my field on a daily basis, but it's always so refreshing to read a paper in a different field that I can even understand, surprisingly Tongue It is a fun read, thanks for sharing it Wink I'm not too worried about the baby factor anymore, that really helps, thanks!

I'm pretty impressed by your determination to not only do it, but also do it well. I guess I was a bit lazy to do more than complying the wearing part during my first treatment, and even now several weeks into my second treatment. I work out about 3 times a week usually, mainly Yoga and strength training, and there was a time I called a brava coach asking about any constraints on my workout, she said as long as I don't do any exercise that grows chest muscle, I should be fine. It sounded a bit counterintuitive, but I followed her advice anyway. So in terms of exercise, I don't think I can squeeze in some isometric workout into my current schedule, but your words do remind me that maybe I should pay more attention to nutrition. I'm a foodie and like eating almost all sorts of food, from fine one to junk food Tongue, maybe it's time to make sure that at least I could try to eat a bit healthier. Thanks for sharing again, and if I make any noticeable progress, I will keep you posted Wink

Best luck!
Thank you NYRes! I had just started my chest exercises back, yesterday and today. I will ditch that exercise! Indeed, I did come home, and after about 3 hours --before putting on my domes for the evening -- I noticed what appeared to be a loss of ALL my gains. So thanks for the report from the original Brava team. Goodness. Yes, that makes sense, not to work out the pecs and burn that local fat. Ah well. Glad I found out now.

Good wishes to YOU too. And I want to say how wonderful it is you ARE going thought the process again. This is a real time commitment. Hopefully we can both see a great outcome.
