I've been reading a lot of posts about soy milk and the benefits of it for NBE. However I'm not a very big fan of it and I'm not sure I can bring myself to drink it. Is there any other soy products that have the same effects? Such as soy bars, or soy foods? Or is it strictly soy milk? Any help is greatly appreciated!

Me either honey.... I make my protien shake with it...hahahaha, get the soy I need, without the nasty taste. I also try and use it in my tea whenever I can. I like the vanilla favor so when I make my red rooibos tea, it gives it a nice vanilla taste without the actual soy taste. Not bad, actually.

I haven't tried it with tea. I do like tea but I have never had milk and tea so I guess I'll have to try. I did try some SoyJoy bars today. They're made with soy and I thought they were really good so I'd figured I'd ask if other soy products have NBE benefits. Thanks for the suggestion!

you can also get soy isoflavones in a capsule form

I used to bother with making roasted soy seeds but it was a little too time consuming and since I hate the taste of other soy foods I just bought a capsuled supplement.

I buy the soy "nuts" in the organic section of the store and put the organic vanilla soy mild in my tea because I can't drink it on it's own either.

IMO I wouldn't bother with soy in pill form. I hear it is most likely okay to take soy in it's natural (food) forms, but in pill forms, and in very high doses, those are the cases where cancer risk might be higher. not sure how true this is though.

I bought soy protein shake...will this be effective? also will it make me gain weight? I heard soy is hard for the body to digest or something....

Try the soy milk that come in the box on the shelf-you refrigerate once you open.
They have regular flavor, vanilla, chocolate. coffee etc.

I just found out recently that soy milk has lots of sugar added to it. I have not found a brand (in the supermarket) that has no sugar or reduced sugar yet.

As far as I know soy is not stronger than the body's own estrgen so it'd be impossible to raise estrgen levels anywhere close enoguh to where the risk of cancer increases. And there is no reason to overdose on powdered capsuled soy cause there are clear recomendation on how much to take.

well you can make your own soy milk at home, which i've posted before in the foods section. you can also find soy protien powder in health stores, you can use tofu, edamame ( which is the soybean in it's original case, kind of like peas.) soy beans, i don't reccomend buying the salted ones at the stores they are overprocessed and the cooking/frying process they use take all the nutrients out of it. there is so much you can do with soy, the easiest thing to do may be to buy the soy powder at you health store, organic of course, well it's at a health store so it should be organic anyways, any hoo, the easist thing would be to add a tablspoon of the powder to a glass of milk once or twice a day.

you can also buy frozen edamame at the grocery store, and steam them, add it to rice, use tofu and add that to stir fry or soups, you could take edamame, shelled, and add them to your chicken feet soups. you can even make your own tofu if you wanted, it may take a while to make it the first couple times, but it would save you money in the long run, because organic dryed soybeans at the health store is cheaper and lasts longer.

for example if you bought four cups of dryed soy beans. and soaked 1 cup of it over night you'd have 2-2.5 cups by morning, and that would make you as much soy milk as you have room for in your pot. and the bonus is that you can add as m uch honey as you want or don't want.

the thing about soy beans and good soy products is that soy has a slight smell and flavoring like grass, so the grassier it smells/tastes the less processed it's been and the more nutrients it has.

making your own soy milk is great but if your like me, i don't feel like making it because i would go through it so fast, plus i don't have abig enough juice jug, lol, it isn't hard to make and it's pretty quick when you get the hang of it...but then again i have 2 male roommates and they tend to eat and drink everything in sight, lol. kind of liek hoover vacuumes, hahaha.

but anyways thats just my 2 cent$
