I saw that Swanson is now selling PM. Says it's a root extract. Has anyone tried it? Doesn't say it's farmed or cultivated or country of origin. Anyone's thoughts........

Wished you would of put up the link. I am a customer of theirs and would be interested as well. I know they were selling one that had TONS of vitamin E, but only like 50mg of PM in it. I thought that was a waste of money.
The only ones I see have 100mg per tab. Not worth the effort of $$$.
So correct me if I'm wrong but isn't an extract more potent so you would need less (100 mg. in extract vs 500 mg in tab)?

Yes, but to a degree. For example. I use the Ainterol's liquid extract. Ainterol says 3 drops equals (1) 500mg capsule. And I use the drops under my tongue to get more benefit. There is a lot of waste when you take capsules etc. The more immediate bio availability is also greater. Depending on rather its caplet, capsule or the such. It can take 20 minutes to an hour depending on your metabolism, where as with liquid under the tongue, it's almost immediate. That is why you put a nitro pill under tongue for angina heart pain.

Also, with liquid, you have a better idea of how much you are getting, as opposed to how much you body is digesting, or passing thru waste.

Hope that helps some.
OK, got it. Where do you get your PM oral extract from, if I may ask?

Either Ainterol US web site, or Ebay. Whichever has the better price at the time.
Is it this one? http://www.swansonvitamins.com/swanson-s...0-veg-caps

The main issue I see with it, barring any quality issues that come to light, is the fact that is also contains Vitamin B, and if you're taking 500mg +, then you're getting a gangload of unnecessary stuff.

I would however consider it as an add on, say if I wanted to increase by 100mg without breaking up a higher mg capsule, something like that.

The B vits are ones typically missing for women going through menopause. I have NO experience or superior knowledge on the issue but i heard you simply pee out anyvexcess B vits your body doesnt need hence the bright yellow pee when you supplement with B complexes. I hope this is corect anyway :s Its primary use is a menopause formula. But yeh ive read alot lately of women lacking B12 during menopause years and also excess alcohol and B12 :s
Apparently this is considered Puresterols standard dose and it's pretty much a straight rebrand of Puresterol. As Ella said, excess B vitamins are just passed through the urine, and not having enough can cause lots of problems. I also note that the B12 and B6 in this formula are in the most bioavailable and nontoxic known forms. The nontoxic refers to the B12. The most common supplemental B12 form is bonded with a toxic mineral, which, when processed in the body, becomes even more toxic rather than leaving with the B12 itself if in excess. What happens when you take too much of this particular form of B12 is not pretty. It's usually non-fatal, which is how they get away with pumping people full of so much of it anyway, but still not pleasant to experience. The methyl form is not only far more bio-available, it's completely non-toxic.

You should be "safe" with this stuff. Effectiveness..... Well, Puresterol IS a standardized extract, but, that's actually the problem. It's been standardized to the wrong thing, miroestrol, NOT deoxymiroestrol. Great for menopause treatment, useless for us.
