I just don't know where to put which herbs in what part of cycling- I am not asking someone to make a plan up for me, because I can see that is asking a lot-- but if someone could let me know which herbs that build which receptors are meant to go where in a woman's cycle?

when estrogen begins to rise, which herbs should I use? ones that stimulate prolactin like fenugreek? (estrogen, phytoestrogen, adaptogen) or use PC cream?

When would be a good time to use flaxseed oil?

sorry I am sure I sound like such a noob at NBE-- though I understand what each herb does and how it helps- I am just not sure as to when to take them with your cycle.

I have this chart that I found on this site that i'd like to follow seeing as I had no idea how to make one up myself ^^;

Chart based off the hormone levels in the body during a womens cycle.

During Days 1-7 [when a woman is on her menses] the hormones are leveled and balanced [for the most part].

Days 8-15 estrogen levels in the body begin to rise

Days 16-22 progesterone levels in the body begin to rise

Days 23-30 hormone levels begin to drop in preparation of the menses

Day 1- 7
Nothing!
1st cycle:
Days 8-15
--
Day 16-22
--
Day 23 -30
--

These are some of the herbs I'd like to try, to start out with:
while leveling my hormones with BCP -- PM, maca root, Fenugreek, goatsrue, fennel, msm, wild yam, Dong Quai, flaxseed oil, a multi vitamin, Alfalfa, Gelatin (for Collagen), L-Arginine (blood circulation), marshmellow root.

Topical:
PC cream
Flaxseed Oil / maybe mix it with fenugreek extract!

or maybe
http://www.amazon.com/Natureday-Breast-E...19-8634640
or booby stacked

though I have noticed some of these herbs do the same thing, like fenugreek and goatsrue, is it really nessesary to take them both? or is it best to just go with one?

thanks so much to anyone who is willing to help! once I figure this out I think I can start ^^

You'll want to match the cycle rather than trying to counterbalance it, to avoid disrupting the cycle. Though some people with bad imbalances may counter the peaks a little. Most of those herbs can be used all month because they are too mild or too balancing to affect the cycle much. PM should be matched with estrogen in the cycle since it strongly mimics estrogen, while PC with progesterone. Fenugreek, goat's rue and wild yam are similar and redundant yes, but it doesn't hurt to use multiple. Also note that many successful programs use quite a lot, some directly, and some because they used multiple and it all adds up. Often 1 to 2 tablespoons. They are not for prolactin only; rather they seem to adapt to all hormones and tend to be balancing even in large amounts. PM, flax and alfalfa are phytoestrogens so they're a bit redundant too, and instead of adding the others tend to get in the way of the stronger PM. Flax oil also provides ALA fatty acids and if you make sure it has no added lignans then the phytoestrogens in it may be minimal. Whole flax seeds always have lignans. MSM is redundant with gelatin. MSM builds collagen, so you need less, around 3,000 mg. Gelatin *is* collagen so you need way more. Thus MSM is easier.

Also note that most BCP is high estrogen, even if it has a little progestin. That means even more phytoestrogens may not be a good idea.

Most of the herbs listed may also be used topically. PM is an exception because when it goes to the liver first it gets converted into a stronger form. So PM may still be used topically, but it is weaker this way.

Omg, thank you SO much! you have no idea how lost I was, you've painted a very clear picture for me now. You've filled in so many holes for me, gosh, just, thanks ^__^

does fenu and goatsrue go in the estrogen part?

& I should make sure the flax oil has lignans in it, right? I'm assuming, because I don't want the phytoestrogens in it to be minimal?

So I am thinking maybe I shouldn't take my BC if I am doing NBE, one or the other, I guess?

Either way, thank you so much for your information, I am super super grateful ^^
No problemo.

Fenu and goat's rue do everything. You use all month. Yes if you want phytoestrogens then you get flax oil with lignans. Unless you are also using PM or BC, then the weak flax phytoestrogen might get in the way of the other stronger estrogen.

BC is fine and helpful for NBE. Assuming the bc contains estradiol you want progesterone cream to match and wouldn't use PM. Everything else is fine.

I am sorry for getting back late-- but I do have a Q. Fenu and GR do everything so there is no need to cycle? I thought everything should be cycled? But regardless, that's good news for me, seeing as I have a horrible memory ^^; lol
Yeah they are often mixed up with either estrogen or progesterone and get cycled as such, but plenty of people have used plenty without cycling without issues.

You only need to cycle the hormonally stronger stuff like PM and PC, but some people cycle everything. A little estrogen or progesterone in the wrong half won't ruin your cycle, and is often done on purpose to maintain that hormone during the off time. Most phytoestrogens aren't that strong besides PM and don't need to be cycled. Hops is kind of strong but even then many women gradually increase it to get used to it and then don't cycle it. But you can cycle these if you like. There's not much for progesterone besides PC and the herbs that affect everything.

Thank you so much, love! You were so helpful o^___^o
