I would try to balance the hormones first, which you can do with Maca. It is said to rise the hormones that are too low and decrease the hormones that are too high. If you take a lot of estrogenic herbs you could become estrogen dominant.
Maca is a food, not a supplement and thus can be taken forever. Not sure why you have to stop Vitex after 6 months.
