Good question, basically we know insulin resistance is a risk factor for breast cancer, PCOS, diabetes, shorter life span and so on.

Excess insulin stimulates the ovaries to produce large amounts of the male hormone testosterone, which may prevent the ovaries from releasing an egg each month, thus causing infertility. High levels of insulin also increase the conversion of androgens (male hormones) to estrogens (female hormones), upsetting a delicate balance between the two and having a direct effect on weight gain and the formation of cystic follicles or cysts in the ovary.

Improving insulin sensitivity,

Live Longer By Managing Insulin Sensitivity
Improving insulin sensitivity is one major step in reversing the building blocks of diabetes. Those who develop diabetes have noticeably shorter life expectancies and they experience more expensive health maintenance costs with all the medicine and accoutrements they have to buy such as insulin pump supplies, diabetic support socks, and other miscellaneous required items. Make sure to get your ALA in addition to the many other ways to manage insulin sensitivity. Do them all and you can safely expect to live longer and healthier.

So basically increasing insulin sensitivity is through diet and exercise, which will undoubtedly be positive for breast growth.

Thank you Ann for the question, you've inspired me to do a FAQ about insulin sensitivity and resistance, it will be posted soon in the endocrine section, (insulin btw is a hormone).

Healthy fats are good for insulin.
if your on meds or going on meds that might effect your nbe
but if you need to increase your sensitivity then it will overall help balance you health..healthy body is great for nbe (=

I heard Jerusalem artichoke could "replace" diabetic meds..I wouldn't recommend that without having enough proof but if your interesting in natural stuff to help as long as it doesn't class with any meds your taking

would you be looking for herb and foods to help Big Grin? V

"Jerusalem Artichokes and Glycemic Index: Unlike the potato where its starch breaks down to glucose affecting blood sugar, the Jerusalem Artichoke is high in inulin which only breaks down to fructose in the colon. As a result, they have a very low glycemic index and barely affect blood sugar levels. They are also high in the prebiotic FOS (Fructo Oligo Saccharide) which helps to build good gut flora and to balance yeast in the body and gut."

"inulin, the carbohydrate found in Jerusalem artichokes, is counted as a prebiotic because it is not readily digestible. Inulin is different from insulin but perhaps mimicks it. Historically, the effects of inulin on humans include the relief of constipation, lowering of blood glucose levels, improvement of calcium absorption, reduction of triglycerides and LDL cholesterol and the inhibition of the growth of various kinds of cancer."
