Wasn't sure where to post this since MSM isn't an herb.. Anyway I picked up some MSM tablets today because I read a lot about people using it as part of their NBE. After I got home though I came across some info about MSM causing acne in some people. I am very acne prone and it had taken many years to get it mostly cleared up. I'm really nervous now about trying the MSM. Does anyone have any input on this?
I took to try and fix acne ages ago, it never did anything that I could tell. I actually just received a bottle off amazon, the NOW 1000mg caps - i'm nervous about gastric upset..
I noticed that my face is getting more oily when I take a higher dose of 3000-3500mg per day.

The tablets I have are only 1000mg so I'm hoping if I start taking it, the dose will be low enough to not cause acne. Have either of you had any weight gain issues with it? That was another thing I read about msm recently. Weight gain used to never be a concern for me as I was underweight but about 1 1/2-2 yrs ago I started gaining a little and now have a bit of a tummy that just. won't. budge!

It gave me acne, started with a dose of a 1000mg and now 2000mg and I've got mild breakouts. They get worst before my period though. My face used to be so clear before NBE, now everything seems to cause me acne :/ everyone reacts differently though

I just about had myself talked into starting to take it, now I'm not sure again. I know everyone is different it's just that I struggled with acne SO long and it was so hard on my self esteem. My skin seems to be so temperamental that I'm afraid of doing much of anything that can possibly cause acne. D
Did you see acne at the 1000mg dose or just when you increased? And why did you increase? Is 1000mg not enough to help with NBE?
I started taking MSM when I started PM, added it for circulation and collagen stimulation (amongst other benefits). As I increased my PM dose, I increased my MSM dose from 1000mg to 2000mg. You need high doses for breast growth or to be a cofactor in breast growth. I'm on my second month of MSM so I'm hoping the acne I'm experiencing is due to the detox factor and that itl subside over time. Have to stick it out and see.
My skin got oily and started to break out on the lower dose and just increased a bit as I increased the dose.
