So I just saw that high estrogen levels cause heavy periods but when I take PM my periods are lighter and shorter even though it is a phytoestrogen. Does PM somehow lower estrogen levels? I feel like my hormones are in balance when I take it even though you'd think it might lead to estrogen overload.
It kinda depends on a few factors... It could potentially do either. Increase effective and therefore symptomatic estrogen (it won't show ANY change at all on a hormone panel in this case) or through a combination of effects it MIGHT decrease overall estrogen by causing a significant drop in your own bodies natural production.
If the latter happens I'd actually advise against using PM in that case. Or adding a deregulating herb like fenugreek or wild yam. Still kinda depends on circumstances.
