I've been reading up on the list of herbs kindly done by Isabelle, in which it is mentioned that flaxseed is a phyto-estrogen and increases SHBG (Sex Hormone Binding Globulin). But I don't know what this SHBG is? Please Isabelle, or anyone else who knows, what is this?

Also, phyto-estrogen grow the milk ducts, and I just wondered if you will actually produce milk using flaxseed or any other phyto-estrogen product. Also, is the milk duct growth permanent?

Thank you in advance.
SHBG disables ALL sex hormones, eventually, but places a strong emphasis on T and E1 long before E2. In other words, correctly supplemented, you can disable any remaining testosterone using SHBG supplementation without harming your estrogen...

The usefulness of this in any given program depends entirely on the individual. Remember, even women want a certain amount of active testosterone and for it to correctly bind to certain receptors to be healthy.

For people who have an extreme abundance of testosterone, SHBG can be ONE option for decreasing it. Personally, I don't feel it's quite selective enough and prefer using SP and CS for my T blocking.
It's progesterone that grows milk ducts and prolactin that encourage milk production. Growing more milk ducts or larger milk ducts isn't a bad thing as long as it doesn't happen at the expense of fat. Milk ducts are increased at the expense of fat during pregnancy and lactation, but that's not likely to happen during NBE, unless you focus only on raising progesterone and prolactin without raising estrogen. Some women do grow by increasing progesterone alone, but these women all have naturally low progesterone and normal or high estrogen, usually due to PCOS.
