Hi there Smile
I noticed that a lot of us here mention to use multivitamins to help your body get all the vitamins needed. BUT multivitamins are in fact not good but bad for your body. I read and watched a lot of reports about thins issue. In a study they found out thet women taking multivitamins died earlier than those who didn't.
Also one doctor in the german news said: an apple has over 2000 substances that work together so your body can absorb all the nutriens needed. Now how many substances do the pills have?!
Even if you don't have enough of one vitamin lets say zinc. than you should take only zink, if thats what you are missing. But don't take minerals and vitamins that you have enough of. Your baody needs balanced amounts of everything and have some to much is bad for your body.

Also i personally think that you should take everything just naturally. I think that your body remembers what vitamins are in food, and lets you crave for that food, when it needs those vitamins. For example if you eat a carrot then your body remembers what vitamins and nutriens were in there and lets you get hunger for this food. But all the artificial products confuse your body and then this won't work properly. (I noticed this in myself after not consuming that much artificially prepared stuff.)

Thas just what i thought would be useful for some. you can do some research yourself to get a better picture, and sorry if I made some things not clear enough. english is my 3rd language.. :pBlush
I strongly disagree. There are hundreds of studies proving the effectiveness in regards to overall health, your immune system and avoiding diseases/conditions. It is difficult to get all everything from diet. I have a very simple diet and I know it lacks alot of things I need and multi is the perfect way to get it. It just about convenience. I don't really like most of the foods that are high in Zinc so taking a multi that contains what I need is just more comfortable.

The problem with taking everything divided individually is that the products often have too much and it is too many pills to swallow.
In my supermarket they sell zinc supplements that have 50mg of zinc(way too much). Zinc toxicity occurs at above 60mg a day.

However I believe some people have negative conditions because they take too much of stuff or their Vitamin product contains too much of certain things. For example Vit C. A good daily amount is 80-200mg. Yet you see companies selling 1g tabs that people take multiple times a day. There is actually a long list of negative side effects from more than 2g of consumption a day.
Well I have been taking vitamins on and off for a while.. well every time I take a multi it makes me feel weird.. also I was just taking b complex same thing.. so on.. the only supp. I am taking is biosil.. I went back to eating for nutrients..I started to have my raw egg drink mix in the mornings and have seen good results.. and no eggs are not bad for you.. I was eating eggs every day 2-4 and had excellent blood work, my doctor even told me (well you will not die from a heart attack).. I am taking herbs especially maca (it has very good nutrients) and just started FG, barley grass, and WY.
See thats the thing. people are trying to get everything the fastest and easiest way, when multiviatmins are still made chemically. it's not the real natural way of consuming vitamins.

And I did try taking vitamins a few years ago, but stopped after about 6months or so, because I noticed that i got more tired from them then without them. And when i heard it would be better breaking them in half that didn't change. I noticed that EATING vitamins from real food has much better effects on my body.

I know people are too busy these days. Still I don't think man-made vitamins are a fair substitute to real food. Wink

Yes I agree too..I too either would get tired or hyper from taking vitamins.. just like when I have sugar I get hyper or tired or both..sounds weird but sometimes vitamins or certain foods will make me feel tired and hyper at the sametime..which left me just not wanting to do anything cause my mind didnt want to do it but my body did..crazy I knowBlush

There are "good" and "bad multivitamins. If you choose the wrong one or take other vitamin supplements at the same time you risk overdosing on something. Sometimes it's not too bad though. B-vitamin e.g. just gets secreated out in our **** if we get too much of it. I'ts not like you can't overdose on fruits and vegetables too. Ever heard of people's skin turning orange from eating too many carrots? About 10 years ago my mom woke up one morning and had big, red splotches of red all over her skin and she had been eating loads of strawberries everyday the last few weeks.

I agree about it being better getting your nutrients from real foods rather than pills, but I happen to allergic to most fruits so I prefer taking a multivitamin and other natural supplements to compensate my lack in other nutrients or to simply get a certain health benefit. Green tea is very healthy for you, but I started feeling very sick in the stomach from drinking it so I switched to green tea supplements instead and have no problems since.
Hi.. I personally liked liquid vitamins but like you said if your getting too much of a certain vitamin it could make you feel worse and I feel that was my problem, I see nothing wrong with taking them and like you said a good quality one too.. I do take herbs and I am currently taking biosil.. as for herbs I feel they have very good nutrients as taking a multi..I take maca, FG, and WY currently..I read maca is very nutrient in alot of vitamins, minerals, and protein..WY is a liver tonic and I think FG is too but helps insulin resistance and think WY does to some degree..
