brava users please help! i just got my brava and have so many questions!

1. according to brava, they said to let the skin-prep dry for around 7-8 minutes before putting on the dome. but my skin-prep box from smith and nephew said it dries in 30 seconds. BUT, from what i've experienced so far, it seems to dry up in more like 3 seconds.... should i still wait a few minutes before putting on the domes? does the skin-prep harden the skin 8 minutes later or something? how long do you wait between skin-prep and dome application?

2. aside from aloe vera gel, are there other alternatives to skin-prep wipes? have you tried aloe vera gel and if so, which brand would you recommend?

3. after wear, do you take off domes, spray, wait 5 minutes, then rinse. OR, are you supposed to rinse first, spray, wait, then rinse again?

4. once you run out of the dome cleanser, can you use johnson baby shampoo to clean the domes?

5. after taking off the domes for the first time, my skin was red and bumpy and felt really raw. what is the best way to heal raw skin? i tried slathering on tons of the brava lotion... it took all day for the skin to heal 95%. it's still around 5% irritated and it's time for my second session. i'm hoping to find a better solution to heal the skin faster so it's 100% before before my next wear.

any insight would be greatly appreciated! thanks!

HI lled34aa,

I only waited till the liquid of the wipes is dry, it is very fast, like seconds. I have never waited the 7 min recommended.

After I ran out of wipes, I quit using anything at all. I don't know if my skin became more resistant to the brava sessions or what, but I have not have any negative reaction. At the beginning I tried the aloe vera gel, but it only worked for some hours. After I started perspiring it would re hydrate and become slippery again, and the domes would loose the seal. So I don't recommend it to use instead of the wipes, only to care for the skin after the sessions.

I rinse, spray, rinse again.

Is your skin irritated where the domes touch it, or in the actual breast?
Aloe has worked for me, but you may have a more sensitive skin. I know it says in the instructions to stop if you have an irritation, but I think nobody would ever able to complete the treatment if we where to stop at every irritation. In my case it healed by itself (even continuing to use the system) and now very rarely I get any problems, but if you are prone to scarring you may want to stop. Some people have used hydrocortizone cream as well.

Best of luck
feather rose, thanks so much for answering my questions!

my skin is irritated where it comes in contact with the sticky part of the domes. my breasts are fine. i love they way they look swelled up in the morning! after my 3rd night of wear, the middle part of my chest is starting to hurt (where the domes meet and puts pressure on the bone). is this normal? my skin must be way more sensitive than yours. yesterday i had to put neosporine on some areas of my chest... it seemed to help a little.

how do you wash your domes once the antiseptic spray from brava runs out? i ask because i use it pretty liberally and i don't see it lasting as long as i plan on wearing brava.

how is your progress going?

lled, I bought more spray once it ran out from amazon. It's pricy, but you know, after spending a ton on the system itself might as well take good care of it. I forgot to mention in my other post, you don't have to use no sting wipe on your entire breast, just where the domes come in contact with your skin (so around it, only). Another interesting thing I noticed, the order in which I put on the domes makes a difference on which breast swells more. It's more natural for me to start with my left side and do my right side last, but it appears that the first dome that goes on somehow makes the breast swell more. My right breast is a bit smaller than my left so I changed the order and voala it get its swelling now Smile I remember hurting myself with the system the same way as you describe the first few weeks. I'm not sure if I got used to it, or learned, either way it doesn't happen anymore.
Would love to chat to anyone using Brava.I am now on my 6th week and am
really excited at the results.I saw the Brava system on BBC programme
my small breasts and I.The lady wore the Brava system for 12 hours a
night and got great results.I decided to buy a Brava system and I am
really happy so far.It has been a very big commitment but worth worth
the effort.I have grown 2 inches so far and am still seeing swelling
each day.I am going to keep you up dated on my progress. If this works
then I want other women to benefit from my experience.Speak soon Sally.
Yes please keep us updated on your progress. did you/do you run into skin problems from wearing brava? my skin is having such a hard time with it.

I saw that bbc documentary too... it inspired me to look more into brava and nbe in general. I tried to look up info on her to see if she kept her growth but I couldn't find anything.

Hello EmmaRoberts,

Wow, that is fast progress! I am very envious, as I am sure many of our fellow brava users are. How many hours after you take the domes off do you see the 2"? How long do you wear the system? Do you do anything else besides Brava? It is pretty impressive gain in 6 weeks, for what I have seen here and my own experience, it takes between 6 and 12 weeks to start keeping anything at all, let alone 2".

Thank you for sharing your experience, and welcome to the site!

Please keep us posted on your progress.

lled34aa,

I am sorry to hear your skin continues to have problems. I can't really give you any tricks to help, just hope you can stick to brava through the irritation, and hopefully your skin will adapt and heal. Maybe using lots of the skin wipes to make more of a barrier will help? Have you tried cocoa butter instead of the brava lotion for after the sessions? it seems to be a stronger moisturizer.

The pain in my sternum lasted for about 2 weeks. Losing up the bra a bit helped, but mostly I took Tylenol. It does not hurt any more now, so hopefully your pain will subside soon.

Best of luck!

I know I'm a little late on this reply, but hope it helpsSmile

I'm only officially 9 days in...not counting the first week of "build up," but I use Skin Gel by Aloe Life...couldn't find it locally, but found it on Amazon for around $12 plus shipping. It soothes my skin if it's irritated and also seems to work well in place of the skin prep wipes. Also, if you have a pretty significant rash or irritation where the domes touch your skin, you can something called a moist burn pad while using brava to protect if and keep it from getting worse.
funny i read through all the aloe vera gels on amazon and went with Aloe Life Skin Gel as well. i've been using it for almost 2 weeks now in place of the skin-prep wipes and it's really helping with the skin problems.

my current battle with brava is the pain from the pressure. it's only hurting me on the right side though so i don't know what to make of it. i've been possitioning the dome differently each night trying to find the right spot but so far, very little luck.
