I just read this article about strength training and hormones: http://www.coachr.org/Strength%20Trainin...0Women.htm
If you want to put this info to good use but you're afraid that strength training will accidentaly turn you into Ms Olympia overnight, here's a video of a gorgeous fitness model performing heavy duty strength training. She's amazingly strong but has a body the vast majority of normal women would aspire to. If you don't believe me just take a peek. This video comes via the "glute guy", Bret Contreras. He is amazing BTW: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F9oXc4vSYRg&feature=youtube_gdata_player
I just thought I should point out that Katie Coles is a bit bigger and more ripped nowadays, more so than the average women would be comfortable with, but don't be afraid. There is no reason whatsoever why she could not have plateued at the level shown in the video had she wanted too. She obviously continued to increase the weight and intensity until she reached her current level. If she had wanted to plateu all she would have needed to do was continue to lift the same weight forever, and never increase it. Thats obviously true for anyone.
Great article, thanks for posting.
