Full Version: Estrogen dominance.. Help!

I recently showed signs of estrogen dominance from taking fenugreek, flax, maca, saw palmetto, and turmeric. I developed a breast cyst and stopped taking everything. The only thing I continued to take was magnesium. Now it fluctuates with the estrogen levels in my body... My periods are still normal, except that my symptoms like cramps and such have come back since stopping the herbs. I am now taking fermented non gmo soy twice a day, saw palmetto (the same dosage as I was taking originally), cranberry (for immune support), magnesium and msm. Thinking of starting E and B6 and also iodine either internally or transdermally.

Two questions:
Can anyone list for me what I can take as a source of progesterone to prevent and possibly treat breast cysts?
Also, can someone please help me devise a program to not run into estrogen dominance again but still get good results? I have not lost any results since stopping the herbs almost a month ago, even after losing weigEht from a case of food poisoning, so I'm not worrie about losing any results, but I am worried about never being able to go on a program again because of estrogen issues. Huh
Hi miabella,

It's unlikely that this is ED. Turmeric is a strong phyto-progestin, and fenugreek increases progesterone. My list of phyto-progestins is in the middle of this post:

Check the lists of symptoms at the top of the post too. Many symptoms of ED are symptoms of estrogen deficiency too.
If it were estrogen deficiency, wouldn't taking phytoestrogens help the cysts be less painful or slowly go away? taking any phytoestrogens orally or transdermally makes them more tender and swollen. Stopping them makes them go back down, but not permanently.

edit: taking the phytoestrogens (even just one dose) makes the cysts (only present in the right breast) tender and swollen, not the breasts themselves.
Hi miabella,

When I feel this, it's just swelling. Does massage help?
