What might prevent PM from being effective?

#1

Hi guys

I've not had any growth on PM since starting 3.5 cycles ago (or at least I really don't think so). I wonder if anyone might have thoughts on why this could be? On my first cycle I took 500mg, my second cycle 1000mg, and my third and forth cycles 200mg. Apart from a delayed period on my second cycle after taking 1000mg throughout my follicular phase, I've not felt any effects or, fortunately, experienced any side effects from PM at all. It's like I'm taking empty capsules! Do you think 4 cycles is too soon to a draw a conclusion that PM isn't going to work for me? I've added gelatin to my routine this cycle in hope it will make a difference by promoting collagen generation, but wonder whether it would be worth me trying pig placenta and HA with PM on my next follicular phase? I don't know if they might work synergistically with PM to increase its effectiveness/my chances of getting growth?
Another consideration is that I've only been using PM cream as a topical (along with taking it orally), and haven't been too consistent with it at that. Maybe I should try PM serum instead?

Most ladies seem to get great results with PM, I wonder what it might be about me that makes me unresponsive?

Thank you for any help! Smile

Have you had any swelling at all?? Did you get any aches, tingling in the first month?? The second month I had a lot of swelling, the most I've ever had but only retained 1 cm of growth. I also take fenugreek daily, and calcium when I am taking the capsules. This time around I started the cream the first day of my cycle and going to start pm capsules the day after ovulation and stop when my period starts. So I switched up my routine to take it in luteal phase which is when you actually grow. I barely get any tingling or aches anymore, just swelling now. I think I've heard give it 6 months. What brand are you taking. Maybe try a new one. Did you do a hormone /saliva test?

@ Tinytots: Do you take PM in the luteal phase? This is the opposite of what everyone said to do. I'm going to start pm (while Brava System) and I've read many threads about it and I realized that it must be taken from day 1 to day 14 of the cycle. I'm confused Huh

Hi Tinytots, thank you so much for your reply! Smile I do get a bit of swelling during luteal phase, but this disappears just after my period begins. During follicular phase, nothing. I didn't notice if I was getting the luteal swelling before starting NBE because I wasn't as aware of what to look out for back then. I did read somewhere that breast swelling before your period can indicate they're growing or building to growth, but the source that wrote this perhaps wasn't the most reliable! Do you happen to know if that is the case, or does everyone get swelling before their period anyway? What time/s of your cycle do you get swelling? I'm using the noogleberry which gives me some great post-pumping swelling for a limited duration until my breasts revert back to their normal size. I don't think I've ever felt any aches or tingles, apart from when I'm noogling (but I reckon the feeling is just my skin stretching). Occasionally I wonder if I'm feeling something at other times, but there's usually another explanation for the sensation, like being hot or the fabric of what I'm wearing making contact with my breast. What does aching feel like? Is it anything like the breast tenderness that occurs as part of PMS? On cycles 1 and 2, when I was taking 500mg and 1000mg respectively, the brand was PuerariaUK. For cycles 3 and 4 I've used Siriporn because I've seen some members here have experienced great results with it. I also took about 1800mg of fenugreek daily on cycles 1 and 2, but have since been on a break from it. I'm thinking of starting it again though. I really want to get a hormone panel done but I don't know how to go about it in the UK. I found (online) somewhere in my town that offers tests, but when I enquired about the price they quoted £250-300! I had no idea it cost as much! I wish I knew how or where I could get a test done cheaper! Do you think the calcium you're taking is helping with your PM?

This will be my first time taking it in luteal phase. I'm on a new regimen this time. It can be used in either cycle as long as you do cycle the 15 days. It was recommended to me from another that grew during luteal. I will be starting after ovulation until the first day of my period. If my period doesn't show I will stop at 15 days.

I think some people can grow without swelling. I have never swelled at all in the past during my cycle. Last month was the first time. Why we swell I am not 100 percent sure of which hormone is doing this. But I do believe we want this to happen.
I don't know of a place in the uk for hormone testing. I used dr lees here in the us. I did estrogen, progesterone, and testosterone. Just the basics. Which showed my estrogen was bottomed out so I know I need pm.
A few things you must do to make pm more effective is, stay away from caffeine. You must take calcium, it will help the pm absorb better. I also apply pm oil infusion with massage, use a heating pad, then noogle if I have time. I also take fenugreek, multi b complex, vit e and drink fennel and bustea. Seriously I do get lazy but when I take my pm extract I do it all every day. Last month I took 1000 mg ainterol extract when I added fg, I got a ton of swelling. I did loose it when I started my cycle but kept 1 cm. I can tell they feel fuller when I massage. I think it's tiny bits of growth each month.
Have you ever done a cleanse? If your not responding then something is blocking your estrogen receptors. They are over loaded. I have heard flax seed can purge old estrogen while making new estrogen. Maybe start adding milled flax seed daily about 1 tablespoon.
I also take red clover, and drink soy milk during my off cycle.
But I believe you need to save up and get your hormones checked. It is really the best thing to do.

Thanks for starting this thread Maple.

I am also about 3 months into NBE taking 350-400 mg PM during follicular. Well, i havent gone back to the size when I started thanks to massage but I also havent grown much after the 1 cm or sometime up to 2 cm during luteal swelling...

I might try taking FSO for my cleanse as Tinytots suggested and serious consider taking hormone tests. Its very expensive where I am too.

Interesting. I am taking PM with a lot of saw palmetto. I have been wondering about adding fenugreek, but I wonder about hormone competition.I also take msm and one capsure of wild yam, since I had some left over. I really like what fenugreek does for my digestion. I have noticed since I started taking PM three times per day, that I am, um very, well, moist. It is almost disturbing sometimes, like I should where a very light pad or something. Ah well, what do y'all think.

What brand pm do you use only because I heard a lot of pm supplements can be fake.
Otherwise it is very possible they just don't work for you everyone's different not everything works for everyone.

I didn't get any time to myself yesterday and am sorry not to reply sooner. Your advice is really valuable to me, I appreciate your help! You're right, I must prioritise getting a hormone panel done. I'm very health-conscious and always try to source the best quality, well-farmed supplements I can, instead of going for the cheaper inferior ones, but being a poor student it's been difficult to find enough funds for the tests. However, it's important to get to the bottom of what is going on so I will see to doing this now. I wonder if something could be out of balance which might also explain my lack of response to PM. Proir to starting NBE I'd already been experiencing a few odd symptoms like cystic acne and mild depression, which could suggest estrogen dominence. Ainterol seems to be the most discussed and rated brand on here, I'll consider giving them a try. You say you take the extract orally? Do you think it's more effective than capsules? Do you also recommend their atomizer spray for massage? That's very interesting about calcium. I've actually been on a dairy-free diet this past month to see if it helps my skin. I'd not had any results from PM prior to stopping dairy, but I imagine that altering my intake of calcium isn't helping matters! I'd heard that flaxseed oil taken internally can worsen/cause acne, do you think milled flax would be any different? So far I've only used progesterone cream to try to balance my hormones for NBE. I often read about people doing cleanses. It sounds essential, but don't know what it involves? Is it just milk thistle? Isn't that meant to be like using progesterone cream? What does the multi B complex do for NBE? Sorry to ask so many questions, there's still so much I have to learn!
It sounds like you're routine has good future potential if you've had 1cm growth, I'd be happy with that! I really hope your revised PM cycle works well for you!
