PM, PC, and BCP

#1

I'm sorry if this has been asked before, I did a few searches and nothing came up -

I was doing 500-1000mg (pesky spoon makes it hard to measure exactly) of Ainterol PM per day, not cycling, as I am on low-dose combo BC. I started getting headaches and my boobs were very very tender all the time, signs of estrogen dominance. I'm ramping down to 500mg of Ainterol for now, and I bought Source Naturals PC.. but how do I use it? Do I need to cycle it? Or can I just use it for massage a few times a week?

Thanks for your help!

I just bought source naturals too!!

I am going to be doing PM for the first 15 days of cycle, and then do PC for the next 15 days afterwards. I may also take a bit of fenugreek or split open a PM and take 250mg for some of the days that I am using PC, because altough estrogen drops a bit during second half of cycle and progesterone rises, your estrogen is still fairly high at this point. I am going to play around and let my body and intuition guide me on this though.

Hmm.. From reading on here, I was under the impression that if you're on BC, you don't ovulate, so you don't have "phases" like people not on BC? Or do you not ovulate but still have phases? Huh

See these posts from Ladyflash:

If we do have phases, I would consider doing more PM/less PC first half, and less PM/more PC second half? Does that sound right?

Did some more reading, and found this: http://breastnexus.com/showthread.php?tid=11333

If you're on BCP, you don't ovulate, you don't have a cycle. gilly says that trying to cycle might INDUCE ovulation by changing up your hormone levels.. I don't want that. So I won't cycle. I think I will do 500mg PM for a month or two, w PC maybe once a week and during the week of my period, then ramp up to 1000mg PM.

Oh but IUD might be different.. it's non-hormonal right? I've no idea. Sad

Depends on the IUD. Of the two I know of, one is copper and non hormonal, the other is plastic and hormonal.

Hi christinaaah. I'm on BCP(ortho tricyclen lo) also and I take ainterol capsules in the beginning of March. Before ainterol I take a low dosage of Pm and increase each month without any chsnges in cycle, but I do cycle my herbs. I also follow my BCP pills because each week has an increase of progestin. I was wondering what BCP do you take.

Hi CocoChanel! I took Desogen for a while, then switched to Reclipsen bc I think they stopped making Desogen. They are both low-dose combo (estradiol and progestin or something like it), so I think I get a little bit of both everyday. I don't think the amount of estradiol or progestin varies as the month goes on.

Hi christinaaah! I guess we still have our "phases" since we still get our period. I also just take pm for a week starting from the 4th day of my period. I'm not an expert but maybe your body is not use to so much estrogen. Because when I look up the low dose BCP you take it contains more progesterone than estrogen. So maybe try to reduce the amount of pm till your body get use to it and use pc during lutael phase. Then cleanse on the week you have your period so that your body balances.
